Could work both ways. Where is our “director of college scouting” looking for that 4 star who went to SEC but never sniffs the field during games? Could this director make sure the portal is open for that former 4 star to come play for us? Just wondering... Lottery numbers? Troy just landed a former 4 star LB from Michigan who struggled for playing time.

]Troy's shooting guard lineup will likely see a mix of Jakevan Leftridge (6'7"), Keiffer Punter (6'5"), Nick Stampley (6'6"), Desmond Williams (6'1"), Duke Miles (6'2"), and Kam Woods (6'1"). [/div][/quote] Nick Stampley isn’t a guard, he’ll actually be playing the center in Cross’ offense/defense. Rotation will likely look at lot like this on Friday with everyone available 1: Duke Miles/Kam Woods 2: Des Williams/Kieffer Punter/Antwan Burnett 3: Khalyl Waters/Jakevan Leftridge/Miles Mendes 4: Zay Williams/Christian Turner 5: Nick Stampley/Rory Pantophlet/Z. Williams

That was disgusting. Neither team wanted to win at all and the officials eventually chose a team.
Jacob Free looked just like he has in camp over the last couple of years: big arm but doesn’t even see defenders when he throws. Also had an incredibly difficult time progressing through the mesh routes today, which are a staple in CCL’s offense.

First thing: To win and stay competitive you must develop leadership with discipline so the letter “I” is not in team. (The HC we don’t speak of) has not been able to get that part of the program off the ground from day one. Second thing: This so called DC is so inconsistent as a coach that Ray Charles can see that. (The HC we don’t speak of) I said it before and I will say it again, if your ability not to develop players doesn’t get you gone, the DC will. Third and last thing: How did we go from Rebuilding the Wall , Developing Leadership, ability to play with anyone in the country, to this after HCNB moved on. O’ I know someone passed up what could have been HCJS Leadership complaint is off base. The leader group on this team was vocal almost the moment the team hit the locker room. Legassey probably wouldn’t have hit that field goal if not for the leadership of the coaches, as well, who spent a lot of time focusing on Legassey’s mental state and putting him in a lot PK operational work this past week. This was a weird one, for sure. Troy got its numbers on offense, allowed under 4.5 YPP on defense outside the 90-yard bomb and defended the redzone well (3 FGs on 5 trips). Penalties and turnovers turned what should have been a ~20 point game into a nailbiter.

To answer a previous question: Kevin Nixon medically retired a while back.

Two Sunbelt teams made the top 25...and we have (The HC we don’t speak of). I think we can beat the MUTS and GA Southern. Halfway to 6-6 right there! GASO can’t be counted out just yet. A full third of the team was withheld from the Campbell game. To say they were thin is an understatement.

Not just in the portal, Mathis is no longer on the team. For reference, every time someone has reportedly entered the transfer portal, they have been immediately removed from the roster. Not exactly. Most recent example, albeit different sport, is KJ Simon. Entered the portal a year ago, decided to pull his name. Simon was never removed from the roster/program.

We have that inside presence in Tyrek Williams, the 6'8" 260 Freshman who injured his leg (knee?) early in the season. I can't remember if it was the UAB or UAPB game in which he had 10 pts in VERY limited playing time. He did to his defender what 33 did to us last night (and last year) - he backed his defender to the basket in put up easy lay ins off the board. The issue is, he can't play 40 minutes and, as good as he is, Stampley's frame doesn't allow him to get that physical and be overpowering while doing so. We weren't just outsized down low last night, 🚫s guys were, man to man, 10-15 heavier. We are very athletic, but we need size. I have a feeling this year's recruiting class will bring some of that. We aren't going to win the conference this year, but Coss's approach, energy, and success will make it much easier to get the athletic bigs we need. I dont think Tyrek Williams is on the team anymore i've noticed these last couple of games he has been absent and one game i seen him in the stands with street clothes on. I havent seen any commits for next season. Its not many scholarships left for next season...we only have 1 senior. I think we should go in the portal and get a immediate transfer to get a center. Tyrek is still on the team. He had surgery on his knee in the offseason and never fully recovered. He has no timetable, but likely won’t see the floor again this year.

This game was fun. The TROJANS took a 2-0 lead off the opening tip and never let UA-LR pull away. I don't think we ever trailed by more than 8 and at one point in the second half, led by 12.We shot an amazing 15-31 (48+%) from behind the arc and that was the difference. We played hard, we played fast, we ran with them when needed and battled their big guys (and they are big) to the very end. Great win for the good guys. I do have one question. Tyrek Williams, our big (6'8" 260) Fr forward wasn't dressed. Is he injured, or taking a RS? If injured, how severely? I assume since he was on the bench but in streets, he isn't being disciplined, but I don't know. He will be a huge (no pun intended) assists down the stretch if he's playing. The big fella is injured. Only 2 of our 3 Williams dressed out last night. HUGE win! Yes, Tyrek missed the game with a sore knee. He can’t redshirt. Basketball doesn’t have the same rules as football. Once you touch the floor, you can’t redshirt. Zay Williams is likely done for the year.

Koby Perry has been suspended since game one. He never had much of a path back to the team.

Let's have a thread for press conference questions, and somebody here with connections send it to somebody that could get them to coach. I'll refrain from the.. "What's up with the cold hotdogs?" If they’d move it back to Monday I’d ask every single question put forth.

So far, the Marcus Jones transfer is the only one I’d pin on the coaching staff. Yea. That one stings. What makes you think its staff related? I don’t feel it necessary to reveal anything I’ve been told, but it was definitely a very different situation than the other transfers. That alone can be seen from the surface.

WTF?! Something smells rotten in that end zone facility... I've never been a fan of (The HC we don’t speak of) (The HC we don’t speak of), but he's starting to hurt our program and if he continues he needs to be shown the door quickly So far, the Marcus Jones transfer is the only one I’d pin on the coaching staff. Tron had one foot out the door when (The HC we don’t speak of)’s staff came in and the receivers left bc they were buried on a deep depth chart. With Sawyer, it’s likely he just wants to go home and play football in Pensacola. Was told he was considering a transfer before the Spring even began.

Defense was indeed dominant in the first half. I think we are going to be fine at LB, those guys played well and swarmed to the ball. The secondary wasn't challenged much deep, so it's hard to say how they are doing. From an offensive standpoint, the play calling was very limited in nature but one thing that was obvious was the pace. After each first down, the team rushed to the line and the ball was snapped as soon as the official stepped from over it. Multiple times the ball was snapped before the defense, especially the guys on the edge, was set. Caleb wasn't dressed and didn't play. The offense struggled in the first half but seemed to find a rhythm in the second. Sawyer looked good and I was very impressed with Gunnar Watson. He is mobile and he has a cannon for an arm. When he throws a 15 yd crossing route, it's with authority and he has the ability to thread a needle with it. Gaven Screws also looked good. He led a scoring drive late in the first half that was capped off with a 30+ yd run by Charles Strong. I can tell you guys, you're going to like him. At 6'1" and 215,  he looks unlike anything I've seen in a Sunbelt backfield. Elusive, fast, and big, he can be a major contributor. There was no live special teams play. The punters took a snap and punted to one receiver and those were the only 3 guys on the field. Place kicks were made using a snapper, holder, and, kicker. Sumpter boomed a couple of deep punts and Legassey hit a good one. He appears to have a really strong leg and I can see him replacing the departed Bratcher Underwood as KO specialist. In his only attempt at a PAT however, he, on cue, clanked it off the upright....unchallenged. Bottom line, there are some kinks to work out. The offense will have a little different look and I think will be a little more fast paced. That doesn't mean 120 plays a game, but I saw nothing that would indicate we would be standing at the line for 42 of 45 between play seconds before running a play. Defense is ahead of the offense, as would be expected in a spring game, we know special team kicking is in good hands, and we didn't see any return attempts. I think we can all take a deep breath, we're going to be OK. I saw pretty much the same thing, Bubba. My only concern was O-Line, but it’s hard to tell against one’s own offense. It was nice to see the offensive pace AND see the 2nd half offense improvement. Offensive line played without three of its five projected starters. The OL didn’t have any depth beyond a very good first five heading into the Spring, so it was good to get some other guys in with the first team.
