I'm worried about band day...that's a lot of high schoolers in an environment that some parents will not like...and that's a big recruitment day for SOTS and Troy in general...guess we'll see next weekend

I asked a few music professors one time why we didn't have a performance degree and was told that the state wouldn't let us have one because Auburn, Alabama and USA have one already and they won't let you have a too many schools with one major for so many miles.
I may be wrong, just going with what I was told

I got a dumb question....why not get some big business, Wiley *cough*, to donate money for each touchdown scored? They want the facility, make the team earn it!

Once again, although I did not state "I'M SPEAKING OF PARKING!" I figured someone would pick up the gist that what I said about parking was an example. I honestly think field house should be bottom priority. It'd be lovely to have a nice field house. It would also be lovely to have better parking, better dining areas, and a broader degree field first and foremost. You can't expect the school to thrive whenever it's known as solely a "teachers school" to people who didn't graduate from Troy. The end zone facility isn't going to be bottom priority to the donors that only give athletics. I think I'll have a beer. Just to stir the pot, if we had that many that gave we would've broke ground already, this has been a four year project so far. Also, the state regulates the majors that a university has, not the school itself. Take the lack of majors up with the state of Alabama education department.

We really don't have a parking problem at Troy compared to other schools. It takes no more 10 minutes to walk across the whole campus, so where you park is irrelevant. Now a school like UCF with 67,000 students this fall, don't even attempt to park. The parking problem arises when the campus police decided to put each group of students in certain parking areas. Those areas fill up fast and the those that don't park correctly get a stupid ticket....yes, I got plenty of the dang things

Yes, but is it just parking? No, it's admissions, financial aide, teachers, bad food, bad buildings, and everything else that comes with growing pains. I know that people are going to complain about everything, but as a potential student, I don't want to see 9 out of 10 people complaining about a school.

Well for starters, it'd be great if someone could put in a couple freaking parking complexes so there would be somewhere for everyone to park. This is very true. I think kids go on Facebook and Twitter and see current students bad mouthing Troy and what good does that do for future students?

That's fairly standard, kids are waiting to see what schools will offer them by the end of their senior season to see if their stock goes up. Why play for an FCS school when a FBS comes calling after you've rushed for 1500 yards in your senior year.

There's been so much about what's coming to Troy, the future and so much hype that hasn't come to fruition, I just believe it when I see it.

What if the kids don't want to come to our school? How do you pitch the area and how can you say it's better than what they will find in a town of 20,000+ people

why can't the university and the town partner up and bring in some businesses? Some kind of entertainment other than an arcade with games from the early 90's and Putt-Putt and a movie theater. Until the town gets more attractions then the students are going to complain and not want to come. BTW, we had another winning team and that was the Rodeo team. National Champions on that team and they cut it..just saying

Since we're on the topic of getting better players to Troy, how would you market our school to a potential kid from Orlando? What about from Brantley? How do you prevent a potential student/athlete from going on social media, searching Troy University and see current students complaining about food places running out of food/being bad/expensive, parking problems or problems with teachers/the university? Do you think this influences them?
I know that each kid is different, but most kids go for name brand/recognition. It's getting better, but I think we need to market our university more in state and get more majors that people want. What good does it do for a kid to want to be a animal science major at Troy? (you know what I mean) I honestly don't know the best way to sell the university other than if it has your major, then it is one of the best schools because the teachers know you and care, you're always more than a number to them. The teams have a history of being good, the game day experience is special in it's own way and it's, in my opinion, the best school in the South.

I've never heard any specific time given on starting the facility other than when ever the money is raised. What are you talking about someone calling you a name? I think I'll have a beer. I figured someone would call me negative or saying that I'm not passionate for my team, etc. I thought that a date was announced early on after the project was announced. I'm not saying that it's not needed by any means but if it's so far off then lets do something that will have an impact. If 2015 is BEST case, what's worst case? 2020? I understand that once the money is raised it'll be started, but it's lean economic times and money is scarce.

JH has hinted the endzone project will start soon. How long has that been hinted at now? I don't care when it starts, but until then, bring in someone/something that will have an impact. Breaking ground anytime before the end of the 15 season would be best case scenario. I think I'll have a beer. Best case is great, but what happens when it doesn't happen? Correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't this supposed to have broke ground last year or before? Call me whatever you want, and yea, I haven't got into the Trojan Warriors yet, but I will. I just want the wins to come back in.

If the endzone building is on hold anyway, why not see if we can get a recruiting coordinator first? I know that the funds for the field house are ear marked and that's fine, but if it's not happening within the next three to five years, then why not do something that has an impact? Most of you know more about the inner workings than I do, so I'm just asking a question. Honestly, we need the staff to do things more than the field house anyway. Buildings can only recruit so much, people recruit people, IMO

I hope that the loss is what was needed and we don't get but 2 more, but the way we looked on the field was just bad. Touchdown in the first minute and a half and then nothing....it was sad

I'm with DT84, what would it hurt to have three plays under center? Run up the middle, run around the tackles or a quick slant pass. We have them already, just move them under center. You can't tell me that a week of reps can't get someone comfortable under center
