Just to clear up a few things about posters taking shots at people not going to show up at games due to Beer Sales. There is a perfectly good reason in certain situations for this to happen. Several years ago I encountered this problem when donating tickets to a Big Brothers / Big Sisters program for a Bowl game. It turned out that some of the children involved had come from a battered / broken home where violence had taken place with alcohol involved. When it was discovered the Bowl sold beverages the tickets were returned.
To make a long story short there are people in this world with problems that do not need to be around a certain environment. Like adding beer to stadium beverage sales will have a reaction to encourage some tailgaters to actually leave the tailgate terrace and come in the stadium. This will also cause a few people not to enter the stadium for whatever their personal reason may be. IMO In the end this will really make very little difference in actual attendance to the game. It will however generate some much needed revenue for our beloved Trojans.
Finally I would like to suggest to each and every one of you (even if you drink like I have or not) to be kind and courteous to your fellow Trojans. If you see someone behaving in a manner they should not then use the event staff to correct the issues before we lose any supporters. In the end we need every Trojan fan even if they do not come in the stadium (just like we did the person that would stand outside before because he could not get a beer inside). Until every game becomes a sell out and the bank accounts are so full that the AD need not ask for donations we need every Trojan that will contribute.
Thanks for supporting our Trojans

Agree. And I argued a similar position in another post just now.
I really don't understand why people like to drink in public at ball games - or even at the tail gate. I just like some good food, some good music, and some good football.
I'm not against drink, and do imbibe from time to time, but it's just not a focal point for me. It dulls the wits and doesn't go well with hot weather imo. That said, I don't judge, I don't expect there to be any problems, and I hope it does indeed generate some much-needed funds for our team!

I'm worried about band day...that's a lot of high schoolers in an environment that some parents will not like...and that's a big recruitment day for SOTS and Troy in general...guess we'll see next weekend

Yeah, I just can't imagine that many people showing their butts at a Troy football game. Ok, maybe some of the swells in the bench backs, but it seems like you'd have to drink a lot of $5 beers to get rowdy.
Then again I know it gets nasty at NFL games. I've been to a Jags game and sat in the "family zone" where there was no booze or cussing, which was really nice as a fan of the visiting team. Compared favorably to a Falcons game at the Georgia Dome. Ugh. Just nastiness.

Can't argue with that! I fall into exactly that same catagory. I'll have an occasional glass of wine or mix drink about once a month, maybe a beer at tailgate. Can't stand most beer though but I've tried the ones with lime but I've never understood the seemingly absolute need for it at athletic contest in order to enjoy the event. Guess I can find my joy in my real world but I accept the ones who do need it and also accept the need we have for the funds it brings in. I just hope the end justifies the means and that's just MY opinion.

("Ok, maybe some of the swells in the bench backs",) Hopefully you are not implying that fans that sit in that area are more disposed to misbehavior than others. A misbehaving individual due to drinking is a drunk no matter where he/she sits. Not everyone needs a lot of beer to get "rowdy"! Got a friend that can get plastered on two beers. Just sayin'!

For what it’s worth…
Pensacola welcomed a new baseball team (Blue Wahoos) three years ago and I was first in line to buy season tickets.
It is probably the most family friendly sports venue that I have ever seen. I would estimate that 20% of the fans in the stands are ages 12 and under. During the game the staff will invite kids to participate in several activities, contests and games. A lot of kids even hold their birthday celebrations at the games. The Blue Wahoos Staff has won numerous service awards and the games have been rated the #1 Family Friendly Event in the Pensacola Bay Area for the past 3 years. The Boy Scouts attend in large groups on a regular basis. Even Pensacola Christian College, which is so strict they suspend their students for using Facebook, purchases entire sections at the games.
Why do I bring this up? They serve alcohol...and not just a little bit of alcohol…they serve a lot! They have over 30 craft beers, a full bar with whiskey and wine, and they even have their own specialized drink called a Blue Wahoo, which is the only ballpark drink I’ve ever seen that features moonshine as a prominent ingredient.
Our AD is not only focused on revenue, he's focused on the fan experience. In case you haven't heard the AD has sent members of the Troy Athletic Department staff down to Pensacola to train with the Blue Wahoos Staff? Don’t believe me…call the ticket office and ask.
Relax...it will all be just fine
Cheers!
Surf Report: Minimal (ankle high or less) surf. Fairly clean in the morning with NW winds 5-10mph. Semi glassy/semi bumpy conditions for the afternoon with the winds shifting to the SSW.

I know that the corn liquor that I drink, upon special occasions, is frowned upon by those that are hired to protect and serve...how do they get around that obstacle?
