It probably doesn't matter. WMU probably won't lose. BSU is 2nd in their division, but without us being ranked in CFP, there's no chance. We actually picked our bowl in mid-October. As soon as we travelled as heavily as we did to Mobile, it was pretty much all but set we'd be in the Dollar General Bowl. I hope we've left our options open. New Orleans is a much better venue for a game if we have choices. Have thoroughly enjoyed it the three times we've been with the Trojans. Can't say the same for the Mobile trips... especially the frigid CMU game. I loved that game. It was cold and we lost, but that was still one of the best games I've ever been to. I'd like something different, but we are either going to Mobile or Montgomery. Bowls want teams that travel. We've shown we will travel close.

Pretty sure, they didn't look at G5 anywhere past Boise and WMU. Like seriously, you dropped A&M from 8, but keep them at 25? Give a 1 loss team that deserves it a spot. Obviously A&MAC didn't want it bad enough.

What are our chances tonight? I'm thinking slim, but I wasn't expecting an AP vote this soon.

We've scratched their back by winning out thus far, and they were scratching ours by making our single loss look stronger. Until they lost to Pitt that is... I went full Luke to Vader "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" when I heard it.

As we are rocking that #12 spot, I doubt there's a premium on it.

I don't follow basketball as rabidly as I do football, but have we ever been ranked as a D1 school (A or AA)?

Honestly, my wife is a die hard Auburn fan/Bama loather and she dies laughing watching him. He actually brings some positivity to cfb.

Honestly, it is so fitting that we are the first Sun Belt school ranked. We put in too much work since we joined for it to be someone else.

I'll take what I can get. We DO look good that close to the CFP though.

I really don't think it is a lack of respect. We have to string together some impressive wins and probably some impressive winning seasons before we will be viewed nationally as a threat. Don't get me wrong...it's awesome to be talking about this and pushing for it...but as kdtrojan (I believe) said, we haven't played a powerhouse team apart from Clemson. Impressive as that was, it was a L. The other teams we beat have not been big surprises. In fact, in two games we won we looked terrible, Ga St. and USA. The teams in the top 25 have played better teams, more consistently and done it for a few years without fail. The exception may be W. Michigan?? This is like a marathon and we can't let up. One season with a bunch of wins won't turn heads. If we finish this year strong with a Belt title, win a bowl game and come out of the gate hard in 17, then we can complain about not being ranked. My opinion... Still proud of our boys. It has to start somewhere and they have us on the right path! This guy! I disagree on one thing, though, I think we played one terrible half against south, the second half was pretty good. Exactly. Good teams know how to win.

This lack of respect for our accomplishments has me madder than getting left put of a bowl in 07. I really don't think it is a lack of respect. My opinion... Still proud of our boys. It has to start somewhere and they have us on the right path! I see your point. I was saying it was a lack of respect because any other team at 7-1 would be ranked. It's too hard to get to undefeated or one loss. I think it's some Sun Belt Bias, but we just have to keep winning and make it a non issue.

I could watch this all day. I know we've only played them 5 tumes, but I hate, nay, loathe South. Beating them is one of the high points of this year.
