Having a contingency plan in place is not a bad thing.

As much as we don't want it, fact of the matter is the SEC and Big Ten will soon be their own league.. ACC and Big 12 may join em. We can do absolutely nothing to prevent this except support our school and team regardless of where we fall

It's my guess that when the Big Boys form their own league, which will happen, several current Power 'Four' Conference members (like Washington State and Oregon State) will be on the outside looking in. These teams will not make the cut and will become part of the Group of 5. That is when the next round of realignment will come into play. Look for a few ACC/Big 12 schools to be in the mix along with possibly a team or two from the SEC and Big 10. It is all about the money these days, so if the football program is considered a 'bottom feeder' no matter the current conference, they may not make it to the new league. We are in a solid place with the Sun Belt Conference and may be able to grow with the likes of these remaining Power Four schools that fall within our geographic footprint.
Go TROY!

It will be the top 50 or 60 programs in that elite division. The money is just too damn much for these big boys not to break away and keep for themselves. There will be a viable, entertaining and passionate division below it that Troy will be squarely involved. Like everyone said, we just keep supporting and we will be fine.

Yeah we have absolutely no control over what other programs or conferences do so no point in as The Eagles say, "Whining, moaning, and pitching a fit"

When I get on an amusement park ride I generally do not get to determine where it goes. But if wishes were fishes we would all be eating Tuna. The point is that incredibly stupid saying of: "It is what it is. " I have yet seen a time where something is something else that it is not. It is so hard to come up with things in the off season to talk about Have a great summer ya'all.

How is it stupid. Tell me one person besides those who work in the athletic department or in the school admin that will have any say so in it happening. Myself as a fan have 0 input or decision making in it so why stress or worry. Doesn't affect my pay, won't affect my day

Myself as a fan have 0 input or decision making in it so why stress or worry. Doesn't affect my pay, won't affect my day Not in the context used. But people use the phrase all the time and I simply laugh because of the absurdity of the statement itself. As in everything is what it is. Like a guy is NOT A GIRL. As many now contend. That would be something that is what it is not. I was not trying to say that any of us have any control over decisions or for that matter wins and losses. For that matter then the saying of “it is what it is happens to be 100% correct. I should have said: the phrase is self evident and over used by folks trying to mean something other than things “are as they are”. Sorry for the confusion.
