WVU fans are saying they’re getting their info from our message boards. There’s no credibility anywhere.

how hard is it to realize that coaches can only do so much? At some point you have to look at players too. When I played bad I’d own up to it I wouldn’t look to blame someone. It’s just easy to point fingers and I get it Realize that it was not one player or even one unit that “had a bad day”. The entire team, their attitude, their motivation, their effort, etc. was universally horrible and embarrassing. That falls on the leadership. It’s intangibles. They entire program was not prepared and it showed. It was plain to see. fair enough. Plenty of blame to go around. Our #1 issue in my eyes is still kicking. And it needs to be figured out ASAP

It’s just easy to point fingers and I get it Players have to execute also but they aren't the ones making the game plan, calling the plays and making game adjustments I’ll agree with that. All I’m saying is you can’t just sit back and blame coaches

I played at Troy and for CNB so trust me they were prepared. That’s a good coach response by him, taking the blame. At lot of the current players are my friends and they’ll admit they didn’t do what they needed to do. It’s funny how you think my age has anything to do with it though. Damn if you thought that the coaching staff and players were prepared last night, I would hate to see your version of them being unprepared. That level of incompetence would burn through a man’s soul. how hard is it to realize that coaches can only do so much? At some point you have to look at players too. In 2015 and 2016 COMBINED we missed a total of 10 kicks (XP and FG). 6 games this year we have missed 9 kicks already.

you’re correct. Coaches fumbled, dropped passes, muffed a punt, missed two field goals. There are always the people that blame the players and think the coaches are untouchable. It’s sad really. But why do you think all those things happened you describe? Lack of motivation, study and preparation. Which the coaches are responsible for. I suspect by your username that you are too young to realize the bigger picture. Oh and by the way, Coach already stated he and this team were not prepared. I played at Troy and for CNB so trust me they were prepared. That’s a good coach response by him, taking the blame. so easy to blame the QB I get it but majority was not his fault. Heavy blitzes on a lot of drop backs and some key drops. Like the back shoulder near the end of the game in the end zone and then a big 3rd down drop after we stopped south on their 4th down try Agree put the blame where it deserves: the HC and OC. They set up that kids and the team to fail. Poor play calling, poor personnel choices, poor (or no) adjustments, etc. you’re correct. Coaches fumbled, dropped passes, muffed a punt, missed two field goals.

My nephew was Sumpter's long snapper at Spain Park. I sent him a text during the game and asked if Tyler could place kick. He said YES (I seem to recall he kicked some for SP that were out of range for their place kicker), just needs to hone his accuracy. He said he has a strong leg (which we've seen). I say, give him a shot. It can't get any worse. I know he can kick and that’s what I said. He at least deserves a chance

receivers dropped 15 passes or so. If they don’t drop them we easily pass for more than 300. Do you want to keep running the ball when the box was loaded and get 1 yard or keep fumbling? Why do you think we see 8 in a box and tight man coverage? Because anyone that watches us knows two things 1) stop Chun you stop us 2) Silvers has zero touch on that ball into tight spaces so easy to blame the QB I get it but majority was not his fault. Heavy blitzes on a lot of drop backs and some key drops. Like the back shoulder near the end of the game in the end zone and then a big 3rd down drop after we stopped south on their 4th down try

we throw the ball because that is what we’re best at. Why would we keep utilizing chunn when he has 4 fumbles in two games and he hasn’t been healthy. There’s a reason these fans aren’t coaches. Just sit back and watch. If CNB wants your help he will ask. What part of throwing the ball are we best at? Bubble screens? Five yard slants? Or over throwing 95% of every route over 20 yards? receivers dropped 15 passes or so. If they don’t drop them we easily pass for more than 300. Do you want to keep running the ball when the box was loaded and get 1 yard or keep fumbling?

Underwood is a Jr and has kicked 3 pointers in the Boise and Akron games that I know of but probably done more. Why in GOD's name are we letting the drummer from Hanson kick? I mean d*mn! Call the soccer coach. Plum embarrassing! And that's just the way he looks! We were awful across the board last night but going for it on 4th and 11 instead of attempting the points when down is busch league. This was one of a bunch of questions last nights game concocted. “WHY” was the question I kept hearing from our crowd of former players. Why throw almost every play the first half? Why is Chunn not being utilized? Why do you fair catch a punt on the 2yard line? Why can’t the line Bloch more efficiently? Why do we never throw do we be ver the middle? Why did we not make changes at halftime? Why do you ATTEMPT to kick a field goal on 4 down late in the 4 th quarter when you have a kicker who hasn’t come close all night and you trail by 11. One would think it would have to be easier to tie if you can make the TD and go for the field goal later. Odds either way by then were slim and none that we could do both, we hadn’t gone much of either all night. Summary? DARN SHOCKING EXHIBITION ON NATIONAL TV! we throw the ball because that is what we’re best at. Why would we keep utilizing chunn when he has 4 fumbles in two games and he hasn’t been healthy. There’s a reason these fans aren’t coaches. Just sit back and watch. If CNB wants your help he will ask.

why would you attempt a long FG when we can’t make short ones? CNB didn’t want to go for it but he kinda had no choice. If we got it you’d be that “fan” praising him for the decision Sir, you do not know me or if I am a "fan" or not mmkay. If you cant make makeable field goals and you have 11 yards left then punt it and try to stick them close. The game/conference title was not on the line like it was in Murfreesboro in 2006 when we went for it on 4th and 19. Member that? you said why didn’t we attempt points? You never mentioned punting the ball. If I recall they didn’t score that drive either so no harm. You’re right the game/conference wasn’t on the line but in a month it could be and if we find ourselves in a 4th and 11 then we have experienced it before. CNB is all about putting the players in situations and seeing how they react because they will come up again.

With our large international student body, not one of these guys coming from overseas (where soccer is the only sport and every kids plays it) can be recruited to walk on and try out ? trust me kicking is not that easy. I know it looks easy and all but it’s far from it. It makes it even harder when you have zero confidence right now.

Looks to be planting too close right now and catching the ball high. Easy fix but the hardest part is gaining confidence. Usually you use the inside 30 kicks as confidence boosters but that’s not the case now.

I know offense played like garbage but this was a main concern of mine going into the season. Our kicking game is nowhere near good enough to bail out the team if needed. Huge missed opportunities last night

There are no excuses for a missed extra point in my opinion if the holder gets the ball down (which he did). If you watch the replay it was solid contact just pushed it right. It will be addressed this week and hopefully fixed. Barker is a freak of an athlete and that TD run Didn’t cause a miss

Is it fixable? Yes, there is talent there. NB gave Legassey his chance last night. I get he’s a true freshmen thrown into the fire but that was a fairly easy kick to make.

Is it time to go for 2 and go for it on 4th and short yardage? Not sure if it’s there yet but I’d hate for offense to find their identity then lose a game because we can’t kick

Should we be concerned about the kicking game? Have already missed 5 kicks in 4 games (PAT and FG). Missed a total of 5 in 2016. Thoughts?
