I’m not anticipating an announcement until after the bowl game. Too many distractions coming up this week to hire a coach.

What do you guys think of North Carolina's OC? He was a head coach before but I think he could a strong option because Troy is in a strong spot. Some call him an offensive guru and he has ties to Alabama. Also coached at Auburn so he knows the area. You are kidding right?

Very, very similar in personality to Sumrall. Not quite as animated I don't think. That would be hard to duplicate but all other personality similarities. I'm on the Gas band wagon. Hope he gets the job and keeps craddock as oc and witt as strength coach.

Craddock can’t hold Sumrall’s Jock And if Craddock is hired as HC you'll surely cancel your season tix?? Or will you man up for our Men of Troy! I've made my choice!!! Never said I was going to cancel my tickets. Did I upgrade when we hired my family friend sumrall, absolutely and now that I’m there I probably won’t change my seats. I was Troy before brown and will be Troy after sumrall. My plans to move to the wire grass haven’t changed. Don’t judge me if you don’t know me.

Each day that passes and no news on the wire makes me more nervous. Each day we don’t have a coach or even interviews is another day the current staff can talk to sumrall and look at real estate in New Orleans. Breathe and think about a potential timeline… we are OK: I think ADBJ had been keeping a list since the Sumrall hire and updating it constantly (including ALREADY vetting everyone on that list). That means they were all vetted prior to the announcement that XHCJS was headed south. Weekend was spent arranging on campus interviews for Monday/Tuesday, discussions and additional interviews IF needed on Wednesday/Thursday, schedule press conference for Friday with announcement AND meet & greet. Leaves four days prior to early signing (another large group of official visits this weekend), NEW HC gets our early signees signed 12/20-12/22 and starts working on getting OUR commitments during Bowl Activities. ALL is right IN MY world 😉 GO TROJANS ⚔️‼️👍🏼 So it is end of day Thursday you’re telling me he’s going to have announcement in less than 24 hours and not a single news outlet has said so-and-so has interviewed for the Troy job. We were hearing Jon interviewed for Tulane by Wednesday. I think your timing is off I don’t see it happening this weekend. I don’t see it happening before the bowl game. I do want to get the job right but each day that passes is not good retain anybody on our staff. I hope I am wrong. Go TROY!

I’m willing to bet that we will have an announcement no later than Friday. Monday press conference.! I’m not nearly that optimistic. Glass half empty on this one. I’d be really surprised if that happens

Corey Dennis - Ohio St QB coach would be my #1 target. Graduated from Charles Henderson, his dad used to be the AD at Troy during Blakeney era. He has coached Justin Fields, CJ Stroud, Dwayne Haskins, JT Barrett. Has been the lead recruiter for some of the top QB’s in the country. Has a lot of energy, very knowledgeable, and loves Troy. I think he and his would do a great job in the community. He's not ready. I heard a lot of people say sumrall wasn’t ready.

Coach sumrall gave Tulane a number he didn’t think they would pay. When they said sure he went to Troy to see what they could do. I know it wasn’t $2.5 million. He would have stayed for that but a $300k bump wasn’t worth it. Until the alumni stop supporting those schools that didn’t support them and Troy can get medical school or engineering school type money Troy will never be able to compete. It’s a shame that former football players for Troy have season tickets for the schools who didn’t want them to play. They won’t support the school that recruited them is mind boggling. I have daughters at both of those schools and I don’t support them at Troy’s expense.

The contract needs to include a buyout that is significant enough to keep our coach. Suprised at the Sumrall buyout.

Pretty sure Corey Dennis named one of his kids Troy. He did graduate from CHHS you know. That’s an interesting hire. I’d be behind it.

I'd love to have Al Pogue back, but does the resume equal head coach? I think he's capable. Some of you older Trojans, don't stone me... but do we steal Whup Jax State's coach? I’d take rich rod.

Interesting concept. Never heard of sitting head coaches going on interviews to “relationship build” for their future. And their bosses be ok with the practice. College football still has an employer-employee relationship. It’s the same in the non college football world. Go with the most logical explanation: he wants the job, he went and interviewed for it. Why do you want him gone so bad? For real! This guy is getting on my nerves. I guess he doesn’t like success

I think in the world of college football if you get asked to interview with an athletic Director you take that interview. You want to build those relationships because you never know where an athletic Director might end up. Jon’s got that relationship with Chris Lewis and we all see what happened with that. Jon’s a great relationship builder the athletic Director at Tulane may end up at an SEC school and he’s already built that relationship. I’m thinking this is just an interview and nothing more. He also interviewed for duke and Mississippi State so what does your statement mean. I know I’ve interviewed for jobs while still having one and really wanting it but after weighing everything I felt better where I was.

Money talks, coaches walk...period. Just look at Prime Time at Jackson St. He was all about helping HBCU, he wasn't in it for the money etc. Colorado calls, $4,000,000......bye bye SWAC, HBCU and I'm not doing it for the money He tried to stay at Jackson state. He put in a lot of his own money to make improvements but Jackson state didn’t hold up their end. Totally different situation but money does talk
