I don't think Jon will1 try to follow Stoops. I think he stays here for now. I think Sumrall will get a chance at Florida next year. Doubtful. The Florida fans are already upset about a Sun Belt coach being hired. They aren't going to do it twice imo Accurate. Probably an SEC coordinator. What’s Urban doing these days? 😜

MS State is a place you go at 55 for a 4 year deal worth 12 to 15 million and then retire or they extend at a higher # or because you played there - there are only 7 teams that have a chance to win the SEC AL, LSU, TX, OK, GA, FL, TN, AU The rest are in the league for the money LOLOLOLOLOLOL...You said AU. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL View AttachmentAuburn has the resources But with the way things are trending TX, FL, TX A&M, GA, OK are probably the real players Bama does not have the money to keep up with these programs - GA is the tail end of the names mentioned above

Only two coaches in history could win at Duke and they have already been there. Only one coach in history could win at Vandy and he's already been there.

I've been known to be about as accurate as that Jamaican psychic who used to run those TV commercials LOL

***UPDATE
Only one at this point that might cause any sort of issue is DUKE, but low probability. If Troy challenges next year, believe serious possibility Jon moves on , and good for him.
PROGRAM NEW COACH BOISE STATE DUKE HOUSTON INDIANA Curt Cignetti JAMES MADISON LOUISIANA-MONROE MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE MICHIGAN STATE Jonathan Smith MISSISSIPPI STATE Jeff Lebby NEW MEXICO NORTHWESTERN David Braun OREGON STATE Trent Bray SAN DIEGO STATE Sean Lewis SYRACUSE Fran Brown TEXAS A&M Mike Elko UTEP

Both nice bigger cities, great facilities and neither can win. Still think UNM has one of the coolest names in Lobos

Tulane job just opened up
You have to think they will contact Sumrall atleast, he was a DC there a few years back.
I think he’d be crazy to go there… they might offer a bit more cash, but realistically the two programs are on the same level and 1 more year at Troy and a P5 offer will come.

Stay at Troy and win or go to bottom feeder P5 and lose? Learn from Neal Brown (God Bless you Neal Brown).

Lot of good food in New Orleans. Oh wait, Sisters, never mind.
I guess it depends on what John wants but Tulane job offers more than Troy - other than more money?
City vs. Small town Private Research Univeraity vs State school Bigger budget Recruit better - stretch imo
Agree, just does not seem to be a good/smart move

Skinny says Tulane offered Fritz $4.5 mill to stay.

Would have to be $4m plus The money he is making in Troy is a lot for Troy - it's like 2M in New Orleans Plus- how manybyearsnhas John got in AL - if he is close to 10 as a state employee, he vecokes vested I think - and that retirement is a decent number especially over time But, I'm selfish - $4m per year is a lot of cash

Auburn has the resources But with the way things are trending TX, FL, TX A&M, GA, OK are probably the real players Bama does not have the money to keep up with these programs - GA is the tail end of the names mentioned above Bama mostly depends on Saban and his authority and connections... Texas and TAMU operate in a different universe with all their billionaires. UGA is fully focused on football and LSU is a corrupt program. Auburn, Arkansas, and Tennessee are backed by major donors but its not comparable to Texas/TAMU. UF has so much potential, not sure what the problem is….
