I was a freshman in 2001, I remember Jax state and their band having zero class. That's why I don't want to see Troy play them ever again. It'll happen eventually though. The statement above regarding "zero class" and Hemi's statement, "JSU means nothing to me." sum up my feelings on the subject! While not knowing the History of Troy and Jax State, I DO have experience dealing with them as a Student Affairs official at another Gulf South Conference member school. It did not matter the sport or which school the athletic competition took place at, I was assured that week I would be dealing with fall out from the encounter ... let's just say they can bring out the worst in people! Troy doesn't need to expose this generation of students to THAT. Especially in a day and age when sadly people do not interact with only fists and words.

I remember the mascots got into a legit fight. T-Roy had to sit out the second half of the game. Yes, it’s a true rivalry. With passion, disrespect, good natured ribbing and good ole fashioned hate (in a good way). Not some manufactured one. When mascots go at it, it’s real. Bring it.

I get pretty sick of this line as well. Just because younger alums feel a connection to the rivalry with XXX doesn't mean the old heads need to insult the Battle of the Belt as "manufactured" like the Battle for the Ole School Bell came down the mountain with Moses or something. Kick rocks. Also, might note its easy to encourage a bad tempered rivalry if you are a poster who openly admits to almost never being at a game. "Sure, bring on the bad blood and the poor behavior. I'll be in my backyard with my buddies regardless."

You just making things up ? The South rivalry was manufactured. It is growing and I enjoy it but it was made up through social media. Good piece of marketplace by the schools. It did not evolve naturally. Kick your bucket of baby tears.

At a pregame thing between the bands, I remember them turning over a table of food and just acting in the trashiest way possible. I don't remember anyone being disappointed that it was the last time we had to deal with those idiots.

Rivalries encompass entire institutions, not just individual sports. Did social media and “The Belt” ramp up and accelerate the football rivalry between us and 🚫? Probably, but that rivalry existed long before 🚫 even had a football team. It’s not manufactured.

One Troy Just kiddin'. I think One Troy is a stupid phrase. Dumb Stupid and perhaps about as lame as ever heard. Now in our section we have attempted to get the (I am sure soon to be famous) cheer started: OF ONE TROY. There are two of us doing it. So far it has caught on to the point there are still two of us screaming that ear catchy phrase. Now I am not saying it won’t catch on but………… drum roll………. NOT

I'm going to make a ruling on this matter.
1. jax state can come play us in Troy. 1a. jax state will pay us 50 million dollars to play us 1b. the game will be at VMS whenever HCJS wants. 2. The sound of the south may not attend the game unless they revert to the proper fanfare. 2a. If the sound plays the improper fanfare, they will be banned for life. 2ab. The sound of the south will not attempt to start a wave. 2ac. If the sound attempts to start a wave, they will be banned for 1 game and all road trips.
So be it by the power invested in me by the wind from my arse.

The baseball rivalry is real, long standing, and runs deep, really deep. And and they rarely ever beat us in baseball. Lol. A rival usually beats each other atleast every once in a while.

Honestly tho. Why should we play them. Most people outside of Alabama assume it’s Jacksonville Florida.
Hard pass.

You do realize I was talking about the rivalry with 🚫, right? That’s the rivalry folks claim was manufactured and isn’t real. Since Feb 2006, TROY Is 33-32 vs 🚫 in baseball. It seems to me that if you split a series that spans 17 years, that makes for a pretty intense rivalry.

I’d like to play them and the muts 1 more time just so we can get the school bell and the palladium back where they belong. By the way both of those teams look terrible tonight. Wku did more in the first half than they did against us the whole game.

What I’m tripping on is why do the chickens have the Jacksonville, Florida airport code, JAX, on their helmet?
