Cole Popovich was the New England Patriots co-offensive line coach in 2020, and set to continue that role in 2021, but refused the vaccine and was let go. He had been with patriots since 2016, and had also served as the co-running backs coach at some point during that span. He is 36.
Eric McDaniel has worked with Sheil Wood at Army, and spend time at App and Louisville under Scott Satterfield, presumably with Nate Woody as DC. He has the tutiledge, and was an assistant defensive line coach at Army under Wood. He has also been a DL quality control analyst at previous stops. He has never been the guy in charge at defensive line. I think this is a good hire though, having worked on the d-line directly with wood, and having spent time with Nate Woody and Satterfield.
The running back hire, Brock Hays, was not very effective at all in his three years prior, at LaTech. Those numbers could signal a bad offensive line, but the Trojans have a talented running backs, so I'm not as worried as I could be about this position. He did very well at Nicholls as the running backs coach in 2016 and 2017, though. The offensive line hire is more important, and so far it checks out.

It isn’t my desire to turn this thread into a political or medical discussion and I won’t do so via debate over vaccines. That said, for Popovich to be willing to lose his job over his decision regarding the Covid vaccine makes a statement. Call him stupid or call him a hero but he obviously has the courage of his convictions and is strong enough to act on them. This trait is only found in men of character and we all would agree, I think, character is something this team needs. May he transfer that strength and character to the young men under his charge.

Totally agree. Nor do I care about anyone’s political beliefs or their stand on the vaccine. Go Trojans!

Thought this link would provide a little more information about the third hire. Like Bubba The Trojan said, I will only talk FOOTBALL on this site and it appears ALL THREE deserve a FOOTBALL thumbs up ⚔️ crescentcitysports.com/hays-camp-remain-part-of-louisiana-tech-coaching-staff/I personally have preached L C D (Leadership - Character - Discipline) for years. Look at the quotes in this article, I think he will fit into the HCJS Gameplan! Coach does not need my blessings, BUT I APPROVE 😂

This country is the best country on the planet, due to our freedoms. I am against vaccine mandates for COVID. The COVID Vaccine works, it prevents people from dying, reduces spread. (Yes, does not prevent spread) On a personal level, it’s irresponsible not to get a vaccine working in close contact with hundreds of people everyday. Wish people could work in a hospital and see people grasping for breath as they die from COVID. Perspective. Again it’s his choice, just my opinion it’s irresponsible and shows lack of leadership.
