I am happy to see the promotions that football will begin in Troy on September 5, but who will be the opponent?

Well if they have promotions for a game there must be one or at least a likelihood that there will be one?

Some of us don’t twit, tweet, twirk, face, tik, bumble, or sashay. Yet somehow we still roam the earth.

Wow if we get the UNA Lions or Jax State that would be a blast from the past opening weekend! I remember when UNA brought their live lion to Troy and parked on the track at Memorial Stadium.

That Lion got loose one night in Florence. Some old lady called the police to let them know it was sitting on her front porch

Guys, I’m trying SO HARD to be optimistic. I see improvement in the numbers for this region. That said, we need to prepare ourselves for the possibility that there won’t be football this fall. IF these outbreaks occur in the football programs of multiple schools (likely) and IF those schools also shut down practice (also likely), it may doom the season I don’t want to be negative and I’m certainly not a “Corona Bro”, but reality is reality.
From Brett McMurphy on Twitter:
“One day after Appalachian State’s fall semester began, school reported a cluster of 11 positive COVID tests (7 football student-athletes & 4 staff members). Football practice has been suspended indefinitely”

Due to protocols this will happen EVERYWHERE the problems you and I have faced will still be nominal by comparison but the over all numbers are going to be a little spike then level off again. Yes there will be rare PROBLEMS in the younger ones but the kids are either going to be around each other a LOT! now or later. The incidence of sexual activity has found a way to circumvent Covid distancing. It is possible we will see games during season that are held up canceled etc due to when it happens on Troy campus. As crazy as it seems, in this age group these get togethers are like the old chicken pox parties. Get everyone over it once. I sure do like at least seeing some football. I also hate Covid.

Has there been any announcement on how many fans will be allowed? Not that we are in any danger of a sell out with this crap going on but are they going to cap or space out fans?

This is kind of like anticipating who you are going to get paired with in a bowl game. The suspense is interesting for this time of year. I'm sure we will find out as soon as the information can be released, but in the meantime we can enjoy thinking of all the possibilities.

I was told that Stadium protocols will be released Friday. Wow, like everyone here, can’t wait to see the announcement . As everyone has probably seen, the in-state SEC schools are going with 20% stadium capacity. That would be brutal for us. With a capacity of around 30,400, that would mean just over 6k. Hopefully, our protocols will allow for at least half capacity.

Don’t you enjoy other teams mentioning Troy.
“Jax State AD Greg Seitz on school alumni Facebook Live tonight: Troy is not one of the teams that JSU will be playing this year.”
Probably were not contacted, were afraid we might, now they can act aw shucks about it 😂
