If you are not used to it, its hell. Thanks for the tip on the water though, as I don't drink much here but will when we arrive. We are coming into NOLA on the 27th of Aug, so we will have a few days to acclimate. Can't wait to meet with all the Troy fans and talk football. See ya soon. Go Broncos...

we sell beer in the stadium - so that gives you motivation to drink lots of water the night before and all day so you can drink a few beers

Thanks for the helpful info and friendly reply Troy fans! I want to also express that almost all the Boise State fans I know have a deep respect for your program and we're looking forward to having our school match up with yours on the gridiron one more time. I hope I can make it down for the game -- would be great to take in some of that Southern hospitality. Lastly, please feel free to visit the broncofans.net forum for questions, comments, and light-hearted banter. Best, BSUTOP25 Hey BSUTOP25 - hope you can make it Troy and we look forward to hosting you guys! Mad respect for the Bronco program. Question - How many Boise fans will travel to Troy? I was hoping for 2500 which sounds like a whole lot considering the travel obstacles. Believe, we all experienced it last year! Would be curious to know what your thoughts are on how BSU fancs will travel.

I will see if I can help with this question. I just called the BSU ticket office to see if any tickets were left. They told me there are still some left but not alot. We will be buying our tickets thru your ticket office on Aug 1st if there are any left. If not, we will go back to BSU and get them. We like to pick our seats instead of being in the section assigned to BSU. Its more fun to be around opposing fans and have a chance to visit with new people. We can talk to BSU fans any time. If we were allotted 2500 tickets and there are not alot left, we should have a good turnout. We are coming in on a tour that puts us in NOLA for 3 days before the game and gets us into Troy the day before the game. We are so excited and can't wait for game day. (33 days and counting). Troy fans, have a great day and Go Broncos.

Harmon Travel in Boise sets up BSU away game travel packages, but this one is by far the best they have done. I have a question though. We are staying at the Hampton Inn and I was wondering how far it is to Veterans Stadium from there. The tour bus usually gets you to the game an hour or so before game time. My question is how early do Troy fans start tailgating. Also, where would be the best place to eat and meet Troy fans on Friday nite. Looking forward to a great experience.

There will be some people cooking and hanging out as early as 8/9 AM. The crowd starts gathering around noon and steadily increases as the afternoon wears on. Most folks who cook etc will be going by noon.

Hampton Inn is a little over a mile from the stadium. We will setup our tailgate around 9 am. With it being the home opener and a quality opponent I would expect it to get rolling by mid morning. Preston’s or Sips on the Square would be my top choices for Friday night.

Their two-handed margaritas go well with hot weather!!

Good morning Troy fans. Another day closer to kick-off. Thanks for all the info and suggestions. This brings up another question I have. Are there shuttles that run from different parts of town to the stadium or is there plenty of parking around the stadium. My brother-in-law and I like to get to the game early to visit, so if there are no shuttles, we are thinking about renting a car for the day if parking is not a problem at the stadium. That way we can see your city and still get to the game in plenty of time to visit and talk football. Looking forward to a great experience.

The University provides a free shuttle to take you from this location to the game and back. The shuttle does run a route, so it will be a 15-20 minute ride if you have to make the entire loop, but it's really convenient.

This sounds like the best option. That will give my wife and sister-in-law more time to shop without us. On a side bar, it would probably be cheaper to rent a car than let the 2 of them go shopping alone. Anyway again, we appreciate all the info and are so looking forward to our game day with all the Troy fans. Have a great day and be safe.

Five minutes from the stadium, not counting traffic. Just walk out the front door of the Hampton and get on the Troy shuttle. Brings you to the Alum house. Cross the street and you are at the main gate. And oh yeh, I've been a Redshirt forever. Long enough to get 3 Phds. And4 Masters. Urah!
