How many games has he started or complete games has he played? Coming in for one or two plays and just running the ball or coming in with a lead is not the same as leading the offense. I think him and Smith are both talented and spring will tell who gets the job. I have to think the coaches know something redshirting Smith last season to give him three years. Also nothing says Watson cant win the job either. True freshmen start at other programs, may the best man win the job There were plays scripted for those players last year and this. Designed to get them into the system. No, it's not the same as starting, but it is answering the bell when their names were called. As a fan, that counts for something.

Key to success on Offense: experienced and talented OL! And deep there too ... lot of young talent from this and previous class. Dual threat at QB. Neither will be the passer Silvers was ... but both offer something different than we had with Silvers ... defense will have to defend all 11 ... should open up passing lanes. Willis showed last several games what a force he can be at WR ... Douglas, Frye, Letton, etc. and I think we'll have some dept. I think RB will be fine .. all the name mentioned above. Agree, if Henderson can stay on field... next level talent. Defense: All the LBs were inexperienced last year ... now all are coming back!! DBs will be talented ... and think there's some young depth. Biggest ?? is interior line. If we can sign the Choloh kid ... I think he and Pierce play this year. Also, I think Robinson redshirted ... he's a hoss! I predict Lucky has a breakout year ... he and Bridges we terrorize QBs!! Can't wait until Spring to see how it all works our! Don't forget Hunter Reese 1st Team All SBC at bandit. BANDIT: Hunter Reese / Zo Bridges / Terrance Corbett DT: Trevon Sanders / Michael Robinson / Will Choloh DT: Marcus Webb / Travis Sailo / Bryan Slater or Jarvis Bryant DE: Kelvin Lucky / Rasool Clemons / John Hines / Jarvis Hayes There's some serious talent and depth at DE/BAN. We have options at DT/NT and we have one of the best DT coaches in America. Believe that. With all the LBs we have coming back, we could be even better in the front 7 this year. Hard to improve nationally on 2nd in rush defense, 2nd in tackles for loss, and 7th in sacks, but I think we have the capability to do so. Will Choloh can play right away if we sign him. My biggest worry, as is in most years, is depth in the secondary. We have outstanding corners, but who is going to step up behind them, and what of the spear position and the safety position left by Weatherspoon? Monday Night Football has been a boone this year as far as depth goes, and I think that will pay dividends this coming year. Good news is Will Choloh tweeted earlier this afternoon about a good home visit from Jordon Lesley today.

I like a high noon kick off but TV will determine that! I was thinking the same thing Redwaver, would be fun to open at high-noon (or even 11 AM) with temperatures rising during the game to help our friends from Idaho enjoy some of our late summer heat! Could play to our advantage. As you say, TV will dictate the kick-off time. Would love for GAMEDAY to visit Troy in our season opener, could show off the new-look stadium to the nation over the Labor Day weekend!
Go TROY!
Lots of California players on Boise's roster, I doubt the heat will be a deciding factor...

It was near 100 at kickoff for the game in Boise this past season. Little to no humidity though.

Depends, I live on the coast...have up to 80% in the winter....Summer dries out. The only area without much heat all year long is SFO or the mountain communities...rest of CA is blistering in August, even on the coast.

Yes and as you say during summer not much humidity. 98 with 20-30 percent humidity is cool compared to 98 with 90-100 percent humidity. The old phrase of "well it's a dry heat " means nothing after 105 on the field is reached. However when they get off that plane they will think someone threw a wet comforter over their heads.

It will be to our advantage. Because they will see that at night it is only 86 and they will think ok.....ahh but not so...they will wilt by 4th quarter unless really deep.
