I'm not one to think that there's only one coach who can be successful at Troy. I'm sure that there were coaches who could've and would've done as well or better than what Coach Brown has done. Now, I'm a huge Brown fan ... he certainly won me over! He's done a great job of reinvigorating the program (excitement/marketing, etc) ... and maybe most important, built to top notch staff! He mentioned that there's a great chemistry throughout as well! That starts at the top. Now, we'll likely lose Brown at some point .. could be this year or not. But really ... I want other schools after him ... that means we are successful. When he goes ... I'm sure there are several who would be great picks for us. Yes ... I'm with TroyStet ... as a friend and teammate of Steve, I'm 100% confident that he would win and continue to build a great program! I also accept that there are others who would succeed as well. So, don't let our affinity for Steve cause folks to dismiss him! He would be a great get when the time comes. But no matter ... I see a bright future for Troy football. I thing 2011-14 was an aberration. The result of LB lingering a bit too long ... that can happen to even great coaches. Excited to finish as champions Saturday ... and excited about future of Troy Football! Great time to be a Trojan!!

I think we are relevant again especially beating LSU which let's face it is bigger than a bowl game win. Troy is a good destination for a coach right now. I wish Brown could stay until he retires but that isn't realistic.

And all you that slobber and drool over Neal I guess that's ok. No man crush morons, sticking up for a old teammate who happens to be one heck of a coach. This was a discussion about the possibility of Neal leaving. The fact is he will leave. It might be this season or next. I and others when that time comes would love to see us bring Steve home. And for all you who say a FCS coach can't do the job, wasn't that exactly what we did when we moved up to FBS? LB was nothing more than a successful 1-AA coach. If for some reason Neal stays he has my support. If he leaves then I stand by my view that Steve is who we need to hire.

If he leaves then I stand by my view that Steve is who we need to hire. 1) You've just quoted me and included me in a group that "slobbers and drools" over Neal Brown. While I think he has done, and continues to do, an excellent job as our head coach, I dare you to put together enough of my comments from all the threads I've ever posted in to make a case that I "slobber and drool" over him. 2) If you will read my post from earlier in this thread, you will see that I wrote that, when the time comes, I want to hire the best man possible for the job, NO MATTER WHO THAT IS. If it's Steve Campbell, then it"s Steve Campbell and he'll have my support just as Neal Brown has. If it's not Steve, so be it, whoever is hired will have my support. 3) In this thread ALONE, counting the post I quoted above, you have told us 5 times that you think we need to hire Steve Campbell. You've even written that if we don't make that call soon, somebody else will and we will miss out. In order for us to do that, we have to assume Neal Brown is leaving, or we have to fire him. I'm not willing to do either at this point. 4) I get that Steve is your buddy and former teammate, as do we all. However, much like the boy who cried wolf to excess, sooner or later the same end result will occur as you CONTINUALLY tell all who will listen that you think Steve should be our coach. Dave, we don't know each other and I have no axe to grind with you, but if you are going to continue to push Steve Campbell's name, expect to get called on it.

Yall chill out. That cats gonna call a special meeting and boycott again... Seriously though, since Troystet came back from his self imposed exile, he has been one of the more interesting well thought out posters on this site. If y'all run him off, it'll annoy those of us who just lurk and read.
