Why does this guy barely throw the ball when they put him in? I would like to see what kind of passer he is considering he is presumably the starting QB next year.

It will be either Barker or Sawyer Smith. Smith was UCFs top HS recruit before we stole him from them.

Alright alright alright.... we get to talk QB battle for next season. This bowl game' practice sessions and the spring practice sessions will be like an old west gunfighter movie. We have some good QBs coming up behind Silvers and they are all in a gunfight for the starting job next season. CNB wants to go air raid but you can tell he wants a QB that can pull it down and take off if in trouble. I think the position is wide open and these young QBs are going to make CNB's decision very very difficult because they are all going to show they want it.

I presume Barker is #1 next year because he is the back up now. Did Smith redshirt?

Both can move, should make for a great battle. As For Barker throwing, he usually gets mop up duty when the clock needs To run rather than running the normal offense. He did get one pass last night that was on the money but dropped.

Don't underestimate Smith the redhirt may well have been intended if he wins the starting job so he would have 3 years at the helm. Stability at quarterback is a staple to likely stability and performance of a team. We have had 3 starters over the last 10-11 years. In contrast Florida has had 7 in about 6 years. So having two guys gun it out next year is very healthy. However do not underestimate what and do not expect Silvers type performance in the passing game. It could happen but his going to the 3rd and 4th progression and then accuracy is pretty dang good. He is talented and despite a couple of rough games we are likely going to miss him.

Scouts and coaches roaming around Troy disagree. We will see. Got a life long friend who is a NFL scout for a team needing a qb. He has scouted us. Biggest knock is inability to make tight throws. IMO Levi was a much better passer and unfortunately he didn't make it. I hope he does but I just don't think he is a NFL qb. Canada probably

Levi was our best pro prospect at QB. I heard he had trouble getting under center. Levi had the arm and was good standing in the pocket. I bet he is a good QB coach too. Glad to see him back at Troy.

Levi had the pro size. Corey was a little small but was a great QB for us. First game I saw Corey in , he drove the ball down the field to get us a W Vs Arkansas St.

Corey got a look from the browns as I recall He was in camp but released He also had about a 5.6 40 time....many defensive lineman or for that matter o-lineman could out run him....He was the original person identified as being timed in the 40 by a sundial......I am kidding a little but he was tooooo slow to move in the pocket and that is slow.
