No wonder no major colleges recruited him. I will say he had a nice career at Troy

Kelvin Simmons, best QB to ever play at TROY, but lacked to size.

Greatest performance in Troy history was Kelvin against Central State in 1993. They brought a NAIA school in with every reject from the Big 10 and Hugh Douglas single handily manhandled our OL. You could hear Bolt cussing them in the stands. In spite of a beating he took he marched Troy down the field and scored with no time left and then made the two point to tie

I remember being in the SOTS during the first playoff run. At the quarterfinals at McNeese State I got fed up with taunts and jeers and shouted out to this bunch, "Our QB can beat your whole team all by himself!" And they laughed it off. They weren't laughing when the time was up! The next morning one of the titles in the sports section was "Simmons is best 'Pokes have seen".
Ohhhh, last laughs.

I think the QB battle will be fun to follow this off season. The redshirt year for Sawyer is a smart move as he will most likely win the battle. Then he'll have 3 years remaining as a redshirt sophomore going into next season.

I know that my friend as I stated it will be a battle. Who knows which will be the next man up? Could even be Gunnar Watson.
