Regarding the NEZ concessions:
- The NEZ concessions will feature a number of items that won’t be available elsewhere at VMS. Philly Cheese Steak, chicken fingers, French fries, BBQ nachos, etc. Will adjust as needed throughout the year.
- Drinks: — Beer: plenty of options unavailable in the rest of the Stadium. — Liquor: Yes. Lots. Full bar with everything you need. — Other: The margarita machine is already in. Blenders too.
- Tickets: Some remain but they’re nearly sold out. $400 each. Email Gary and he’ll take you through all of the remaining options: gwilbert@Troy.edu.

Also: you must have a North End Zone ticket to gain access to the NEZ concessions stand. No “wanderers”.
Plenty of fans so far have kept their existing seats and added 1-2 NEZ tickets to “give it a try.”

Great, so let's do it again then! We need to. The North Endzone highlights what a dump the rest of the stadium has become. Especially the home side -and that's not even arguable. Look how old and tired it is in this updated picture. Those lower deck bench seats haven't been updated since Willie Tullis was running around the field. The upper deck has remained as is, since it was built. At least chairback seating would help and add color. Right now it looks like an old relic from the Soviet Union. Doesn't have to be very much... A lot of wasted/unused space in the south endzone. Arkansas State Homeside is the best I have seen in the SunBelt. Georgia Southern is nice. I have not been to App State. And I hear while small, Coastal Carolina is nice. Our home side does need a renovation especially on the bottom section.

Correct me if my figures are wrong but aren't there just 400-500 seats in the NEZC? I know they are premium seats but why not offer this expanded menu at the other concession stands. Depending on crowd size there could be anywhere from 15,000 to 29,000 fans elsewhere in the stadium with the same old cold burger, cold pretzel or cold hot dog options. Seems like a huge profit opportunity lost IMO

I don't see a renovation on the home side or visitors side anytime soon. My understanding is Troy has reached its limit on issuing bonds and with the new fitness center under construction it might be a while

I agree with your point, I just don’t see how we can hope to accomplish the stated goal using our current {Sodexo) model.

You can get better food and more options at any high school concession stand on a Friday night. Absolutely zero imagination in the food choices. Here is an idea one local high school here did. They let the culinary program handle concessions. Came up with great ideas on burgers, chicken sandwiches etc. gave them some flair. They tripled the sales

Got to walk through the building for a few minutes yesterday! WOW!! As with most things ... the pictures and videos of the locker room and workout area don't do them justice! new Seats are really "vertical" ... right on top of action. Can't wait until Saturday!

They once served some fine spaghetti in the Stadium Club. It looked the same on the plate as it did going in a cup a few seats down from us. Food was beyond disappointing in Stadium Club. By the end of the season we were either eating at Hooks before or had better food at the T-Club Tent I bought tickets when the stadium club first opened. Good seats, had my own liquor locker, the works. I think Barnhills was the caterer but I'm not 100% sure. Food was good and there was plenty of it ;you could basically eat all you wanted. Even made me a fan of Barnhills. Over the years it progressively got worse. They started punching tickets so you couldn't get seconds, they changed caterers and the food got worse, and there was not ever enough tables. Plus there was a crowd that raced to all the tables as soon as it opened and "saved" all the seats and stayed there the whole game. One game I was eating hot dogs (yes that was the meal for that game) while sitting on the floor, with wild kids running all around the area and I told my wife I'd had enough of the stadium club and we'd find some friends to tailgate with. I enjoy pregame much more now!

I hear what everyone is saying on Stadium Club! I go back to in game experience - here is hoping the in game experience is awesome this weekend. Pisses me off when the PA plays music over the band and when the band plays over music on the PA. I love both and hope they figure it out.

I hope someone has stressed to the administration how important the "Game Day" experience will be this week. Ideas: Several more/varied concession kiosks (including several more beer stands), figure ways to get folks into the stadium more quickly ... maybe open gates earlier?, set up one or more of the porta toilet type deals ... the ones that you actually walk into a door and it's temp restrooms. You could set those up in the area between the main gates and the concessions ... so they would be out of the way a bit. Again, no way to avoid lines ... but if they can be minimized as much as possible!! And ... as we have all mentioned ... the music/PA/Band issues. I wonder if we'll have the same PA guy? Bless his heart ... he's gotten a bit better over the last couple years ... but, not great.

Just a thought here so don't get mad. I know the Mississippi St game was a disaster, from getting the gate to the concession stands, but it seems you guys are focusing only the negatives. We had a larger crowd for the Alabama St game and only slightly smaller for Akron last year. I don't remember any of these issues arising at those games. I know for a fact that I had no issues getting in the gate. I don't visit the concessions very often, but I don't remember any major issues there. (I could be wrong though) I feel like the staff that was in place during the Mississippi St game learned a lot from that game. Will there be growing pains and hiccups in the North End Zone? It's very possible, but I think they are fully prepared for the crowd for the Boise St game.

It's very possible, but I think they are fully prepared for the crowd for the Boise St game. I'm with you Hemi, I think the staff that is in place now thinks so much further "out of the box" than any staff we've had to date. Their combined experiences at other places me think they are running every scenario they can think of, from personnel placement, to mechanical issues, through the unforeseen. The lessons learned have absolutely been emphasized and re-emphasized and I firmly believe Game Day activities and atmosphere are going to be incredible. Jeremy M., Tony F., Brent J., and their staffs have such a much better perspective now than when Miss. St. came. I'm not sure how many on the current staff were even at Troy the last time Miss St. came to town. I think there may be some - man, we didn't even think about that - moments in the NEZ but I am thinking those will be quickly resolved. As for the concessions, I NEVER THOUGHT about the food when I bought/buy my tickets. It just never dawned on me that folks would forgo the opportunity to tailgate to go upstairs early and eat the food in the Stadium Club or Stadium Sky Boxes. Are not all of the stadium concessions ran by the same company, Sudexo? If you already know what your getting before you get it because all you've done is complain about it, well... If the food you buy in the stadium is used to replace lacking 'tailgate opportunities' may I suggest to all that you find a tailgate group and come enjoy the entire experience. Then when you need that "snack", well, it is hard to mess up ice cream bars, cotton candy, bagged peanuts and popcorn. If you can't find a tailgate, anyone can come to ours, Emerald Coast/Elmore County tailgate, at the Alumni House. You and Doug always make sure the meat is good and the rest of us bring the goodies! So COME ON! As for the football game itself, well, as they say, "proof will be in the puddin!"

Brent Jones Tweeted the following just a little while ago. As you can see, fan experience planning and game day review are part of today's work schedule. Nothing is guaranteed, but the effort to create a quality experience is being made. This staff gets it.

For real though, someone call Sodexo and let them know people are coming to a big game Saturday and they will probably want popcorn

Believe it or not there are some simulations that you can use to improve the system. Getting people through lines "Queuing models" have been used for years now. I know some stadiums have used them along with the Atlanta Olympics in 1995 so they've been around for a long time now and they're pretty accurate.

Have we come a long way OR WHAT?! It is GAME WEEK and we are worried about how we are going to get everyone into the stadium without a hitch. By the way, I believe all of those "glitches" have been worked out (could still be a mishap - things DO HAPPEN). It is just oddly funny to me where we have come from just 5 years ago.
....and to think someone once told me that it "has nothing to do with winning"...

I remember the lines at MISS St. I don't see that happening again. One thing I wish they could do is a student only gate so the main one off tailgate tearrace didn't get so jammed. winning breeds excitement....period. We win this game and the sky is the limit for fan excitement the rest of the season
