The tents in tailgate terrace seem to be bigger than 10X10 but I'm not sure. I know they are roughly $200 per game + corporate tickets Might be a tough sell then. No food included and I imagine you can't bring a grill in lol. Guess we will see

According to the info provided, the tents are 10X10 but the total area involved is 400 sqft. That would mean a 20x20 or 10x40 or some other combination to make 400sqft with a tent on that. That's a pretty good size area for 15 people so space shouldn't be an issue. As for food, it can be catered or those renting the tents will have access to the "premium" concessions offered by the NEZ. It's not for everybody, and I doubt I'll ever avail myself of the option to rent one, but for a corporation that wishes to entertain clients or reward employees, it's not a bad deal.

Good revenue source if it does. My concern is a corporation can rent a tent for $200 and buy GA tickets for $15 each. Guess it boils down to how much a company or donor wants to spend

It looks like it is essentially an outdoor sky box. A covered area, premium seats and an experience not available to most of the rest of the stadium.

I think they need to put up some sort of shade. Large awnings, bigger tents, etc. a 100 SF tent in a 400 SF area is going to be hot in Sep and most of Oct. If I'm going to pay for the area I'd want some more shade and a place to get under in case it rains.

I have a friend of mines son who just went to work for them. He's based out of Auburn so there's a slight chance he might be the one involved in this. That also means that Troy probably just gets a small cut of that fee charged

Take away the tents, misters, and TV’s and those spots generate income.

It will be interesting to see how this does? $12,000 a game if all six are sold plus food if ordered. I know talking to the dad the last couple of weeks about "The Tailgate Guys" they are on several campuses around the country. They handle the tents, set up and food. I would be curious to see what % Troy gets of the fees or if the company just pays Troy a fee to be allowed to operate. The negative is Troy could possibly do this on their own and keep all the money. The positive is we make money and have nothing invested in time or extra staff.

I visited the NEZ section yesterday for the first time. I take back all the negative thoughts I had. If you’re still on the fence about buying tickets here, do it. Yes you have an end zone view of the game which is not the best option but it’s a great view with a new indoor concession area that’s awesome. Spend the money. Don’t wait any longer. If you’ve got a business or just a bunch of friends, the tent setup is really nice too. Perfect for a birthday party as well.

Farming out is a good idea IMO. IF they don't do a good job, fire them and get someone else. Our program - just my opinion - could take a little less money and sub out some of the work to make for a better fan experience.
If it takes 30 minutes to get food an drink against Boise - shame on the athletic dept. This will be our largest crowd ever. Bring in mobile concession stands - especially drinks (soda, powerade, water). Nothing wrong with having too much.
Double the beer lines please = double the food sources please.
Not only does our team need to be the best against Boise - so does our in game experience.

I expect there will be lots of "casual" fans ... maybe some local folks who have rarely come to a Troy game! Do whatever we have to do to make it fun and stress free experience! Of course there has to be some standing in line ... but keep it to bare minimum!! Customer Service, Customer Service, Customer Service!!!

I studied Waiting Line Models at Troy for my MBA. Have the athletic department call over to Sorrel and have them optimize based on the facilities we have and the number of tickets sold. This should take an MBA student about an hour... or one of our prestigious PHDs less than that. It can be solved. Or just read this tutorial: www.csus.edu/indiv/b/blakeh/mgmt/documents/opm101supplc.pdf

I know casual fans that will never be back after the previous Will Call disaster. ( due to this disaster people missed the entire 1st Qtr because our lack of preparation, foresight and general knowledge of customer service )

Let me say this - I do think our Athletic Dept. is aware and are trying to be ready. Whether they will be is TBD. I just know they are aware and want a great fan experience!

Ticket sales for the NEZ seats are not looking stellar. That's concerning.
Maybe it's just a view thing and folks don't want to move from perfectly good 50 yard line seats. That's understandable.
DT is more of an all around experience guy and the place is going to be set up for the experience so we are going to give it a try. Also, I have about had all I can take of long lines, stale peanuts, and Mrs. DT84 B!tching about the stale peanuts.

100 seats left out of 400 is not bad for imo. I thought they were doing well with what has been sold. 75% assuming there are 400 seats and I am going on memory, is not bad.

At least it will be like the other stands for the half full games and you can hop around and visit with buddies.

The 100 that are left are all in the corner nearest GW Drive which means lots of sun. I think they will sell once more people see whats happening over there.

And they have a Frozen Margarita Machine in the NEZ! Can I give somebody my money to buy me some?! We always get general admission because we try to get random people to come to the game with us. If we had reserved seats, we wouldn't be able to do that.

Thats where we are. I was a seat snob and wanted back row and isle seats so ended up over there. There will be something to be said though to not hear “sit down young man” when its 4th and 2 with the game on the line.
