The Troy fans' vocalization of Seven Nation Army in the second half was fantastic. Crank it up at VMS this Saturday.

Maybe we should yell "to the top" after we make a first down....it worked for Southern Miss.

Maybe we should yell "to the top" after we make a first down....it worked for Southern Miss. Thanks for clarifying that for me. I thought they were saying "We still s**k" not "to the top" Funny how my ears can play tricks on me.

I couldn't figure it out either so I finally turned and asked a USM fan. He said he thought it was stupid and refused to say it. I like the TROY college kids in front of us that would yell to the bottom every time and of course my group started yelling to the top every-time we made a first down. The 7 nation army chant was rockin, that is one of the best and loudest for a small group I have ever heard, Hemi is right, the team kept turning around and looking at the fans. It was also awesome win Jack Hawkins came over and started motioning for noise.

The Troy fans' vocalization of Seven Nation Army in the second half was fantastic. Crank it up at VMS this Saturday. This is when you could see Southern Miss fans with a look of "what's happening here?" - it was incredible and have been humming that tune ever since. Let's bring that spirit and enthusiasm Saturday oh love Cry Havoc - great idea and let's do it - get that over to cheerleading coach and students/sga prez/inter fraternity council/band and TV stations ........... now

Like disco said when that chant started it was after their band or loud speaker had played it....the players were turning around almost to say "dang those old and youngsters are makin a lot of noise for us" ..it was a neat moment to be there....it is a tad haunting and while a chant of Havoc etc sounds good the impromptu nature of the chant fired up the fans and players...would love to see it at the Vet and try it again, heck there are enough in our little section to get it started and apparently it catches on fast cause everyone was singing, humming, or moaning the tune and get South Mississippi fans attention

What we need more than a horse or a battle cry is 20,000+ plans cheering the way the people that made the trip to Hattiesburg cheered. Darn Hemi, if a "horse or a battle cry" will help stimulate people to come join the fun then why not embrace the ideas? I THINK everyone know we need more butts in the seats but its how do you get them there.

I'm not opposed to anything that might add to the experience, but it doesn't really matter unless the people are already excited and energized about the game to begin with.

Well, "energized" is not alway manifested by screaming and hollering but if that's what any fan needs to enjoy the experience that's great and it would be a sad venue without that, I COMPLETELY AGREE. I love the excitement but I see many great fans that come regularly from good distances to enjoy being a part of that experience but do it THEIR way. I know a lot of folks who see any activity other than the game as an enhancement. Often they are there as a wife or friend who are not football fans but love the pomp and circumstance that comes with it. They buy that same ticket. I think we are all in the same page in what we want, a full stadium for whatever the reason. That's why the BAND is so darn important to the entire picture. The more they can add spice that send chilly bumps up folks arms then they are a HUGE part of the event....like a horse and warrior or chant. It's ALL good! I think we agree!!!

I'm not opposed to any of those things. I'm just looking at it based upon the reaction of the players when the fans got behind them and made noise for their team. USM does a lot of videos and music between plays and changes in possession to involve and pump up the fans.
