Let me state up front I'm not a big fan of most "scripted" PA lead cheers. For instance, I, personally, feel that the PA lead "and that brings up another TROJAN 'first down'" is blah. That said, I think something unique to TROY and the TROJANS could be really good. We've discussed this issue before and nothing has caught on.
I've noticed over the last two seasons that "CRY HAVOC" and "HAVOC" are being used more and more on social media. During the pre-game, the crowd has begun screaming "HAVOC" as the PA announcer sets the tone for game. If the PA could begin saying "CRY" with the crowd responding "Havoc" at key times, say before an opponents third down try or after a big play by TROY, it could add to the emotional involvement of the crowd. As something that would be unique to TROY, it would not feel so scripted, at least after a while. Also, because it is a cry that is not football specific, it could by used across all sports and could become our battle cry. Imagine this being screamed as an opponent is attempting a crucial free throw, for example.
What do you guys and gals think? How do we go about implementing this? Is there someone we could contact, or will someone from the athletic department read this thread?
Comments welcomed.

I like it ... anything that generates excitement and gets the fans involved! Again, things like, "and there's another, "Trojan ... First Down" or that pass falls, in-com-plete, etc. They may be corny ... but it got the fans involved. We don't have to use those, but something like that.

I have heard some of those 'corny' cheers on tv during pro games, especially the in-com-plete. Might not be liked by everyone but I've heard a lot of people participating when it's called out.

I like the in-com-plete, but I also like the idea of something unique to us, something that will cross over to other sports, something that can be considered a battle cry. I admit, I'm biased, much like a parent who thinks his own child is the be all to end all when others look at the same child and say "huh?". I like the idea I proposed, however, I am not opposed to other ideas. I won't push my proposal, I won't run it into the ground. If I can help bring it about, good, if not, that's OK too. I just want to see the atmosphere at TROY match that at other places. I want to be unable to carry on a conversation with my wife because of the crowd noise. I want our crowd to make playing in VMS miserable for our opponents. I want to help cause, in any way I can, those things to happen.

In fact I think unique is good. My thing is that any type of crowd participation is a plus.

I've been saying that we need one. I would like to add saying "cry havoc" when we see another Trojan out and about.

Cry HAVOC!!! would be the perfect cry during kickoffs too imho! Roll the "cry" and yell "havoc" at the kick would be perfect. The SGA, athletics administration, HCNB and staff, TROY University administration, the entire fan base, and alumni association need to get behind this. Also during kickoffs the video board needs to be utilized to encourage fan participantion by showing "CRYYYYYY" followed by "HAVOC".

Honestly and i am being anal here, sounds a bit to "war eagle"/"roll tide" for my tastes. That is just my opinion but think about it for a second

It actually makes sense for Kickoff as it's already a traditional part of our pregame festivities.
I would even consider adding...and let slip the dogs of war! once the ball is in the air.
Mark Antony in Act 3, Scene 1 of William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar: "Ranging for revenge, with Ate by his side come hot from hell, shall in these confines with a Monarch's voice cry "Havoc!" and let slip the dogs of war."

Not everybody has to have a battle cry. Most schools don't.

I like this as well. I truly believe that we as a fan base need a glue to make us stick together, something that we can all get behind and enjoy as TROJANS one and all...and this could be that very mortar that helps complete the rebuilding of the wall.

What we need more than a horse or a battle cry is 20,000+ plans cheering the way the people that made the trip to Hattiesburg cheered.

I wouldn't have survived an overtime because by the end of the game I felt my head was going to explode! We brought the noise when it was needed!!

Once we got a ride back to the hotel, changed clothes, and made it to a restaurant I think we were all too tired to eat.

However, we need something that unifies us...the diehards and the casual 2 team fans and the students (upper class man and incoming freshman)...and a battle cry might do the trick to help with the unification of all fans.
