Not to look past Clemson -
But is anyone going to the Southern Miss game in Hattiesburg? Have we ever traveled to play there before? Anyone know anything about the game day experience, Golden Eagle fans, or logistics of visiting? Is there anything worth doing in the area besides driving the hour to Biloxi? I looked on TripAdvisor and it looked pretty spare, but I'm not super familiar with that part of MS. Is there any way to get tickets direct from TROY to make sure you're sitting with fellow Trojans?
Believe it or not I've never been to a TROY away game (unless you count bowl games) and am seriously thinking this is a good drivable weekend trip from Panama City where I could stay just Saturday night. Tickets are really cheap and it appears a decent hotel can be had for about $60 per night. It'd be great to go and be part of a solid visiting contingent against a team that just had the steel to beat UK at home. I've been to NFL away games in Atlanta and Jacksonville and had mixed experiences with dealing with the home fans (Atlanta was terrible, Jacksonville was an amazing experience all around) so that's one thing I'm unsure about.
I would aim for the USA game (going to be an awesome game against our best rival) but it's not only on a Thursday but during a week when I have to be available for any overnight problems at my job, so a no go.

Time may have passed to order tickets through the Troy ticket office.
Hattiesburg is a college town. Go make a day of it and enjoy the experience.

Harrisburg is a town that supports its local university well. Very easy to get to. My previous experience with game at Southern Miss had no issues with fans. Everyone was nice.

I will be tjere with 4 other Trojans. I know there are several others from Troy making the the trip down. We should have a decent contingent there.
I am staying in Biloxi and making the trip up from there.
I think Hattiesburg is a pretty good college town so if you are looking for a sports bar/watering hole for pre/post game you should be set.
Really looking forward to this game. It will be our first game to really tell us where we really are as a team. I am calling tomorrow to see about aquiring tickets through Troy. Hopefully it is not too late.

Ticket office is returning any unused tickets at the end of this week so you still have time to get your order in. I expect the So Miss fan base to be similar to ours and look forward to a great tailgate experience .

I have been looking forward to this game against y'all. I love playing schools that are culturally the same as USM. You won't have any problems with USM fans win or lose. Your team looks scary good and we are really worried. I am thankful we are the home team in this game and y'all will have to travel back to back weeks. If you stay in Biloxi try to check out the next city over Ocean Springs. Their downtown is awesome. Tons of bars and restaurants. I would suggest these hotels if you stay in Hattiesburg La Quinta, Residence inn and Courtyard Marriot. They are all right next to each other and push up against a cool bar/restaurant Mugshots. You could literally hit it with a rock from your hotel and you wouldn't have to worry about drinking and driving. Crescent City, Purple Parrot Cafe, Mahogany Bar, Keg & Barrel and especially Leatha's BBQ are all great bars/restaurants. These are just a few I would suggest. Y'all will love the tailgating environment.

Sections R, RR, Q & QQ are visitor sections. Will you be bringing your band?

Why no band 2 weeks running? Was this the predetermined band schedule?

Why no band 2 weeks running? Was this the predetermined band schedule? The band travel schedule is determined by university administration instead of band staff. The band staff sends over a budget that includes costs for attending ALL games. University administration chooses the trips and informs the band staff where they will be going.
