I also have 4 tickets in 107. The first game the students behaved ok. Last night is all everyone has said it was. Almost shocking disregard for others in many ways. A guy I know brought 3 young kids with him and was caught in a cross fire of profanity. He said he won't be back

It will be interesting to see what gets done but personally I have no faith in this administration standing up to the frats. If they don't then it sends a clear message that they value the blue sport coats and khakis more than fans or donors

Most of what I saw was not in sport coats and khakis. It is a mix of non frat and frats. The ones wearing the sport coats are pledges, usually freshmen.

I would expect better control of who enters a section. I will suggest hiring Officers from surrounding areas for off duty pay. Works pretty well in Tally & G Ville. They are still handling crowds the same way/numbers of officers as they did when we were in school.

For the record, I'm glad to see the students showing up in high numbers and hope this continues. All issues noted are fairly easy to correct. If not, this positive will result in a setback to the programs support. I know if allowing obnoxious drunks to ruin supporter's game day experience and allowing people that pay for general admission or student seats to take premium seats belonging to season ticket holders, these seats will not be purchased as a season ticket packages by current season ticket holders.
I don't know why people are paid to man entrances to each section if they are not going to even look at tickets of people entering the section to be sure they are supposed to be there. I buy 4 season tickets and usually just use two of the seats. I could save some money just paying at the gate for two GA tickets and then sit where I want. The University is promoting this thought process by not policing. I overheard a squatter telling someone with him that this is what he does "because they don't care where you sit". I have not been able to sit in the seats I paid for because people were already in them when I arrived. I just sat a few seats down to keep from making any kind of scene.

When squatters try it in mine I just inform them they are in reserve seats. I show them my ticket stubs and ask them to move. I have had to get the ushers only once to get folks to move. This one of the issues I am going to bring up tomorrow morning with whoever is over that operation.

Again, sounds like a few knuckleheads that got out of line and the cops dealt with it. People saying they are going to abandon the university because of a mistake seems wacked out. More than just a few knuckleheads. In the early part of the first quarter, students cut through the barrier fence and took over the first 8 rows of section 107, which pushed all of the young kids off the first row. I was o.k. with it at first ( glad to see the student support), but then it quickly got ugly as the students started pushing my stuff out of my seats so they would have room stand on the bench behind me (aka my seats). I had to ask at least 8-10 students to move out of my seats. Most didn't argue, but a few did with language I won't repeat. Some season ticket holders showed up and couldn't even get to their seats, so they just left. Later one student was smoking an e-sig and I asked him to knock it off because it was blowing in my 6-year-old daughters face. His student friends confronted me and asked if I had a @*#$'n problem. Then two of them decided to fire up cigarettes and began intentionally blowing smoke in our direction. Shortly after that, two students with fresh beers just barged down the aisle and didn't even acknowledge my daughter was there pushing her forward where she almost fell down to the next row. I said something to them, but I won't repeat their response. We then had small bourbon bottles (single shot size) being tossed in our direction from somewhere in front of us. This was all before the end of the second quarter. I'm not abandoning the university, but my seats will be empty and I will not renew them. I'm done! Surf Report:
The surf is flat once again. The wind is blowing out of the North at 8-10 mph with 17 mph gusts and the air temperature is 57 degrees. High tide was at 3:29 early this morning and low tide is at 3:21 this afternoon. Those little turds better be glad it wasn't me they were asking if I had a problem b/c I would have laid a couple of those snot nosed little b*******s out.

Where is the "event staff"
The student section sounds like it needs to be monitored more closely

Bob you are spot on and the same situation exist in the arena. I had to run young kids (18-25) out of my seats. The event staff girl said "tell them to move", I thought that was her job. They moved three other times when seat holders arrived and wound up sitting court side. The event staff girl stood and watched. EXACTLY what is event staff hired to do? I'm capable of finding my own seat. You can complain, write, voice objections until the cows come home but ABSOLUTELY NOTHING will be done in the football stadium or the arena.

Speaking of Troy students
I was nearly in a car accident at the gas station earlier today in Troy... Kid comes backing out of a parking spot (and very fast) I don't know how I missed her but we didn't crash... I blew my horn to alert her... She rolls down her window and gives me the middle finger...
Is this the type of kids Troy has on campus?

My oldest son who is a Sr. as Miss State sat in the Troy Student section Sat. nite and he said it was a pretty dosal crowd versus the student section at State. My son doesn't drink so he would definitely not approve of a bunch of shenanigans. So possibly maybe a few drunk apples gave the masses a bad rap which is usually the case.

Exactly, punish the evil (minority), promote the good (majority). Sounds like some want to ban students from the universities athletic events or turn Troy into a monastery. Yes, it stinks that a few ruined a few others experience but let's not burn down the stadium, so to speak.

Easy fix. Based on what I have read today, it sounds like the Student Section needs to be fenced in with chain link and students need to be searched prior to entering to prevent the use of wire cutters. It sounds like this is MORE than just underage drinking problems...
It would be interesting to KNOW how many advisors, school administrative and staff personnel actually are keeping up with the students during the game. I have nothing against the Greek organizations, I actually spent thirteen years at four different universities working specifically with them. I was know as The Czar of Greekdom at one university because I spent 10 - 14 hours per day on average during the weekends making sure they were doing the right thing!
