I wonder whether Troy would suddenly be a big enough market for C-USA, if UAB were to drop out.

I wonder whether Troy would suddenly be a big enough market for C-USA, if UAB were to drop out. I like the Sunbelt conference and would prefer S'belt for for Troy, but must admit that $$$ talks.

I wonder whether Troy would suddenly be a big enough market for C-USA, if UAB were to drop out. They would take either Texas St., Georgia State, or ULL before us. We have the smallest market in the Belt along with App St

I am still not in awe of C-USA. Let's get this new coach going and try to get back on top of the Belt.

I'm hearing Clark is back in the mix. WOW! I can see Troy being interested but would Clark be? Clearly with this news it could get him thinking. He could get the same pay maybe more at Troy and not have another university in control of everything. He could be back in the sbc which he is very familiar with. If this happened it would be the final nail in the coffin for Uab I think.

If there's truth to the article, I can envision a few scenarios whereby $ "mysteriously" leaves some uat booster's accounts and finds its way to Troy and gets earmarked to pay Clark's buyout.

Birmingham Media (local television stations, radio, etc.) is blowing up with the topic this morning. I do not have time to worry with their problems, we have our own with The Trojan Nation, BUT it is interesting how this is all coming about!
Basically a couple of weeks ago (based on their success this year) UAB began a Football Foundation and named several former players to that "committee". The common thought in the metro area was it would be interesting to see what UAT thought of them establishing a Football Foundation in Birmingham that did not have crimson as a primary color!
What has caused this TOPIC (The End of UAB Football) to surface so quickly is members of the committee/foundation quickly discovered that UAB has not scheduled any games past 2016 and the coach's contract is only for three years.
I would think the scheduling situation would be a HUGE RED FLAG!

I feel bad for the coaches who have taken that program to a level it has not seen in a while. The administration is dropping the ball by not shutting down the rumors, how do you recruit a kid when all he sees in the papers is this garbage. Paul Bryant, Jr. is to blame for this mess.

I would be pissed as hell if this situation was on Troy. Heck UAB AD isn't even saying anything! But with that said I won't cry much over not going to that dump stadium every other year.

Troy should gage Clarks interest in the Troy job. I would be a little concerned if I was Clark about my job security after 2016 if a bigger program hasn't snatched him up by then.. And even still recruiting just got that much harder at UAB with this situation. He better get out now! If I were him I would jump on the Trojan train to Troy.
