My hypothetical example kid just signed with Arkansas State. They are also playing much more competitive ball and that comes from how they are coached.

Is gut fire the same as gas?
I think I'll have a beer.

Yes, but then that opinion is highly discounted since he is not independent from the coaching staff, draws employment from Troy, etc. I also saw us get blown out by UAB (which had a new coaching staff start with much less this year at a team that has no funding support) and lose at home to Aibilene Christian (aren't their coaches just parents that volunteer?). We finally have examples that make all other arguments for the status-quo (or swap out assistant x) invalid. The success we did see in the last ten years was largely driven by the leaders we had in Koenning and Franklin during their respective tenures. We have had limited leadership otherwise. Bingo! Add Johnny Williams to the mix for building the dream. The nightmare began with the departure of these along with LB's mental departure after 2010, though he actually started packing in Tiger Stadium 2008.

Yes- Johnny Williams was another one of the visionaries that did more with less and really helped put us on the map...

This morning, I remembered why I don't listen to John and Barry for Troy news. Barry was funneling the koolaid between koolaid keg stands. "But we don't have nice facilities, but our coaches don't make enough"... I'm glad we had this cathartic start to the year so that at some point our downward spiral into the abyss of mediocrity ends and we can finally work on getting tho program back on track! You don't respect the opinion of a man who's face to face with players and coaches in those facilities multiple times per week? Speaking of Barry...... I heard him bash the city of Troy a couple of years ago when Lee Sterling was coming up for a game from Florida. Lee ask about a good restaurant to eat at while in Troy. Barry paused and sarcastically said Waffle House is about all there is. This was before Chic fil A was there. I can think of several restaurants off the top of my head: Sisters Restaurant, Momma Goldberg's Deli, Santa Fe Cattle Company, and Country's Barbecue. I think Barry McKnight is a hired hand who really doesn't care if Troy wins or loses. He is an Auburn window licker.

You think he's a secret agent hired by LaLa or SoAL?

I think There is a better chance of the world ending this Saturday then Troy beating Georgia..I am not so sure that Troy could beat Alabama State right now and Huntington and Faulkner might even give us a struggle for a while....Sorry NO kool-Aide drinking by me right now
