Well, in addition to "Score more points" if you had the following; 1) RUN FASTER, 2) HIT HARDER, 3) CATCH BETTER, 4) TRY HARDER!!! 1-3 should also be assumed to have three exclamation points too. All of those together would be a stellar lesson from this staff.

All of this banter will be forgotten after the TMTDM rises from the ashes on Saturday in Athens. Pruitt will dance out of sacks, find receivers running free and put points on the board. The Law Firm of Burks, Chunn and Franklin will run roughshod threw the UGA defense. Mark Wilson will pop Gurley in the mouth on the first play of the game, and Gurley will tell Mark Richt that he doesn't want to play anymore. Troy wins 27-24 as Ryan Kay booms a 52-yard field goal as time expires. Why? Because why not. We have hit rock bottom and the only way to go from here is up. Feel free to drink the Kool-Aid with me. Dream now because Saturday is coming. Let me guess you still don't understand how this could happen because you can destroy everyone on NCAA 2015 when you play with Troy.
The truth is I haven't seen a player on the Troy side of the ball man enough to hit Gurly. My guess will be that they will be getting out of the way because they are scared. If they can't tackle ACU's tailbacks do you really think that they will even try to tackle Gurly. Gurly will charge at them like a bull and create highlights for his Heisman run but wait ESPN will that's just troy it doesn't count. Troy Saturday will make the top 10 worst plays.
It will leave the Troy faithful dreaming of days gone past (The killer B's, D-ware) and listening to CLB saying, "Well, Well....you know those boys are good.... Oh - Oh...number 3 for Georgia...what's his name... O Yeah Gurly. Cuz I mean that cat can run! Did you see him! How do we suppose to play with that! I mean...I mean can't even tackle right now. We have to go learn to play football. But man it was just an honor to be on the same field as a team that great. They could have put 100 on us if they wanted. I tell Troy fans all the time when you come to SEC town you find SEC teams.....and we suck! But if they would pay a little more and build the field house I want maybe they can recruit a good coach after I milk out my contract and pad my retirement."
Italics - my opinion of his mindset. He would never be bold enough to actually say it.

I know we need a new locker room. I just get sick of it being used for an excuse to why we can't win or recruit. The fact is we got beat by a team with a 8,000 seat stadium, I'm sure a locker room no better than us and a box truck to haul their gear . Maybe if Troy put in half as much effort recruiting the hotbeds of Florida, Georgia, Texas and other places as they do complaining about facilities and recruiting Itawamba JC maybe this would be a non issue Barry McKnight painted a great radio picture this morning. Let's say we have a hotshot quarterback visiting the Troy campus. For the sake of argument let's say he is from Florida and spends a lot time with his grandparents in Georgia and Texas. There isn't enough room in the coach's office for his family to come in and sit down. The stadium isn't as nice as places he's played as a HS qb and the cup someone gave him a Coke in smells funny. What about Troy right now makes a kid want to come here and play? So I take this Florida QB is from The Panhandle? Else we are dealing in fantasy. Been to a lot of high school stadiums in Florida. Please tell me where the 30,000 seat one is, with jumbo torn scoreboard, press box suites and field turf is? I must have missed that one.

I guess not having a end zone facility is why we got our buts handed to us by ACU. There facilities rival Oregon's I heard.

I love him but he lost his fire and has forgot his focus and it is easier to blame circumstances than call bull on yourself. Bill Clark or any ball coach with fire in his gut could take the talent we have through spring camp, summer workouts, and fall camp and we would look like Troy of old. Larry's time has past and his fire to coach is gone. He still loves the school and program but his fire to coach is gone. The passion to take his team through everything they need to do year round to beat the eyes out of whoever is lined up against him is gone. It use to be personal to him. He had a (The HC we don’t speak of) on his shoulder to show he was the best. That is gone. Anyone who has known him over the past 23 yrs can tell it. It is really sad that he isn't being honest with himself.

D1 football, chance to play early, relationship with the coaches, beautiful campus, safe campus, family atmosphere, beautiful stadium.
If all we need to recruit is he end zone facility then we need to build it and hire A local realator to give a tour and sign on the paper tour. You sell in recruiting, it isn't doing a open house.

Last week with lightning storms our team had to practice across the street in the armory. I didn't realize that until this morning, but how do you defend that? An FBS school that has won its conference 5 times in a row in recent history hold practice at the armory across the street because of lightning. Take that kid and his parents into an office where they can't all sit down. Get him to Troy. What do you say to him?

So what's the answer? Go down to FCS? We found out Sat we couldn't win in the Southland anymore. McNeese, Sam Houston, Central Arkansas would kill us. How did ACU recruit. The field House won't be built in the next two years and this crap heap of a season won't help fundraising. The fact is we point blank refuse to attempt to recruit Orlando-Tampa-Bradenton-Lakeland area, South Florida, The hotbeds of Georgia, Tennesse and Texas. Yet we can board planes to fly to Kansas to get the leftover juco players. So I guess Troy better go to D11, we don't have a field house. How's the field houses working out for USM, SMU, New Mexico and Vandy right now.

First of all preacher, NCAA 15 does not exist. Secondly, The Dream is currently in the midst of four straight trips to the BCS at UMASS in NCAA 14. My video game coaching skills are rivaled only by my rasslin ability. Judging by your snarky view of things, I would take it that you were a Ric Flair fan. Tisk tisk

I'm saying if you have a coach with fire in his gut and flames in his eyes it doesn't matter!
If a kid is a baller he wants to play for a fighter. The facilities are not there in the game. It is a general and his soldiers. We got studs when we had less. Larry just had fire in his gut and flames in his eyes.

Yes, but then that opinion is highly discounted since he is not independent from the coaching staff, draws employment from Troy, etc. I also saw us get blown out by UAB (which had a new coaching staff start with much less this year at a team that has no funding support) and lose at home to Aibilene Christian (aren't their coaches just parents that volunteer?). We finally have examples that make all other arguments for the status-quo (or swap out assistant x) invalid. The success we did see in the last ten years was largely driven by the leaders we had in Koenning and Franklin during their respective tenures. We have had limited leadership otherwise.

If we continue to believe and state we will not win without the best facilities, guess what we won't. Now the radio guy is saying it. Let's stand up and fight instead of crying about what we don't have.
