This has been a rough year for us. I probably have 100% of the forum agree with that one. All of us on here still love college football even with all of its warts as it now stands. Probably 99% agreement on that one. The powers that be will get a handle sometime on this in this next 5-10 years because everyone knows that the love of college football as an entity has a value not only from an emotional side but a financial one as well. Probably 90% agreement on that one.
So, what are you excited about STILL this year or what in college football are you using as your therapy for one of our disappointing years?
Mine: Good games no matter who is playing. Texas and Texas A&M playing again is an example of watching rivalries I like. I have watched more FSU games this year because their season has sucked too and they were supposed to be good. Plus lots of Nole fans here in Marianna. I GUESS MISERY REALLY DOES LOVE COMPANY!!!
These are just the types of things I was thinking about when it comes to STILL enjoying football this year.
But lastly, for me, the idea that this is a blip and Troy will be a phoenix again in the future and hopefully that begins next year.

PS: I know there is a lot of talk about a super league that will divide college football. There will always be a thrill and desire for the old type of college football (when I am talking old I am talking 3-4 years ago.). There is money in that too so it may not be the same but it will not be relegated to FCS level without television or very limited television for it. That desire for Cinderella is even in the lower part of that 70 of the super league and if they want to be part of not being cut out they will probably eventually be our allies and not our enemies. They like us know the pie can be bigger than just the super league because it will begin to be just NFL Ii and while not a bad entity millions will long and enjoy whatever the “Other” set up becomes.

I’m a Troy fan. Period. My family has discussed this. If we stop going to games, supporting the teams financially, nothing will get better. If the players can suit up every game, so can I. We’re making our tailgate plans for Homecoming - we want a big, boisterous tailgate to celebrate our school..
There are only two home games left in this season and one is on Thanksgiving. Given the state of the world, I’m not missing anything. If there is a super conference and we go back to a playoff, give me Georgia Southern. I need redemption for 1995.

I like that you are simply a Troy fan. I will continue to support and go just like you. That will not change. I was only asking in this less than stellar year what most of us as college football fans still find joy in, as we wait and support our Trojans.

I will pull for Army and Navy because nobody there is receiving any NIL money or entering the Portal! They don’t always win but they have culture and discipline !
