HCGP is our coach for at least two additional years. I HOPE that he will learn SOON (I don’t think he has a clue) we are a passionate fanbase … honesty and openness go a LONG way in gaining our support!
That is not WHY I started this thread … I said we needed a “Pick Me Up” … it COULD be worst:
Creg Stephenson on Twitter, “According to USA Today's coaches salary database, Trent Dilfer's buyout is $4.116 million. That seems prohibitive.”
IF you have not been keeping up with this landfill fire, MUCH BIGGER than a dumpster fire, Differ has tried his best the past three weeks to get fired, not only due to his lack of football knowledge but also his comments to the press including his positive thoughts on other schools.

Good point. Misery is all relative. "So, my shrink, in an attempt to flip a prolonged depression offered "Cheer up! Things could be worse!"" And so, I cheered up, and sho nuff, things got worse! (I paid $80/hour for that advice.) True. He prescribed norpramin my next visit.

They care only because the fans help pay their salaries and can provide a home field advantage. Part and parcel they don’t really care about the fan base and only grab A** with the money supporters long enjoyed to keep them giving. Parker’s relationship is transactional. I believe Hemi just mentioned it, it’s a business decision. A lot of Trojans are still hung up on Sumrall, hell Ho just posted about it. Got to let it go. Do not get emotionally bought into any coach. They will leave at a drop of a hat. I’m ok with that, that means Troy has done well. Also allows one to praise them when doing well and on their azz when poorly. Remember Parker is making close to a million dollars a year, he ain’t showing up donating his time.

I'm struggling to stay on the Parker bus.
But Dilfer may be the absolute worst coach in America. UAB fans are stuck, because there's NO WAY that UA is paying for a buyout for UAB.
I've seen some recent articles where UAB are worried that this could lead to the program being shut down again.

I'm not saying I'm bought in as a coach but as a person. I developed relationships with Sumrall and Parker not because of Troy football but because of their kids and their families. I coached a daughter of each of theirs in softball so it's tough not to care about their families. That's my two cents.

Never been one to be on a "bus" for any coach. I have known a few over the years. I always hope for the best for them while they are here. What perplexes me with this staff is while I was doing a little digging two on the offensive side seem to have their roles reversed based on their bio's. One has never been "the coach" at that position and the other exceled at it. And by the way this part of the offense is our weakest per se in performance this season. To me personally this particular position coach is probably more important than a OC.

Your viewpoint, opinions and defense of his actions and their results are personal. That’s ok, there yours to have. But it would/could counter what is best for the program in lieu of your desire for Parker’s employment status for Troy’s football program. It’s not all about what’s best for him. Your position is a tough one to be in, granted.

With the single exception of Fester and he came on a short bus and it was obvious. But to be totally fair, he did seemingly recruit well.

He didn’t “seemingly” recruit well, he did. The proof is in the pudding there.

Coach and the staff will work tirelessly to get it corrected. The phrase that has never been used on a team fan forum; "You win some and lose some but it's all the same to me. " Or this one. "I agree with everyone" or this one " In my opinion our coaches have never made a bad call" or this one "You know what? The officials were great tonight!" Nope somethings are just never uttered.

Bring in the Nix Brothers. Derrick and Tyrone Nix are the perfect fit for this program.

To say Gerad Parker doesn’t have a clue we have a passionate fanbase isn’t true. He knows, he hears, his wife hears it and kids hear it. I fan I spoke to recently said the same thing. He said he spends some time at the local youth sports fields to see family members play and that HCGP's wife and kids hear it all the time. They hear it in the stands (wife) and they hear it from their teammates (kids). HCGP is paid handsomely and with that will come criticism from the fan base, justified and not justified. He knows that this is part of the job. By extension, his wife knows that as well, but I can tell you that if I were in a situation where my wife was being publicly criticized as is happening to HCGP, I would be upset, even though I would know that said criticism comes with the job. The losers in all this is the kids. I don't know how old HCGP's kids are, but, I'm guessing they are in the 6-12 year old range. Kids that age don't understand that Dad is a public figure making a lot of money and that, along with that comes criticism. Dad is Dad, and all they hear is folks talking bad about him. I have no idea if anyone reading this is criticizing HCBP around his family or if they are doing so in front of their kids who, in turn, repeat what they hear around Parker's kids. I just know that foulpolephenom is right when he says that HCGP is WELL AWARE of the passion of the TROJAN fan base.
