It is almost like when Goose went down we abandoned throwing the ball and just tried to run it. That works with a dominate OL, we do not have that

That works with a dominate OL, we do not have that I think the gameplan for Monroe game was run run run the whole time. The 1st series with the ball we had 13 plays and only 1 time did Goose pass during the drive. It was his only pass of the game. It was the next series when he was sacked and knocked out of the game. Troy rushed for 224 yards that night. but only had 71 yards rushing. What killed us was the penalties again, especially on the big plays that were called back. Penalties are going to be a thorn in our side this year because they are ranked 105 out of 134 teams.

We stink. I’m not saying we don’t.
I will say that even if Parker has to go, it wouldn’t happen until the end of the season if at all. So, I am going to root for him to win out. Possible? Yes. Probable? No.
As SeaBass points out, we are improving on defense. That’s a positive.
Our offense is busted down like a south cheerleader after a Troy game. Injuries are understandable, but lack of improvement is not. Parker needs to call Reagan and specifically Carbine on the carpet. Carbine maybe needs to spend some time on fundamentals. I know our center could use some help.

QB has to FOCUS on just getting the ball, orienting laces into grip, loses 3/4 second, has to chase the snap, another 1/2 second lost. OLIne has to block for 25 -33% more time. All timing is affected, quick hitters to slower receivers not possible. Most talented long receiver double teamed. OLIne worked well enough for 224 yds rushing, tho' lot of misdirection.

I don't know if this is the right place to put this but I have a question for the Troy Boyz. I was speaking with a fellow Trojan fan about the Texas State loss. I said it appears Coach Parker is in over his head. He kind of laughed at me and said something to the effect of that Sumrall left the cupboard empty, there are a lot of underclassmen starting and no coach could inherit this type of situation and be successful. He believes I'm overreacting and thinks things will be better next year once Parker gets his system in place and players get more experience. Is he right?

I would answer the question with regardless of what level of talent one believes in on the roster and how fast a “system” can be installed, any staff and HC shapes a program with fire, belief, discipline, attitude, passion, a sense of purpose. These items don’t need 18 months to install, especially when it was already ingrained from the last HC ! Your friend really can’t see the difference in these things from when Brown and Sumrall were running the ship ?

And not a single one of those coaches took over a program that had won two consecutive conference championships and went 12 and two the prior two seasons

Jimmies and Joes matter a lot more than Xs and Os. Look at Nick Saban in the NFL. He couldn’t get it done with and even playing field

And not a single one of those coaches took over a program that had won two consecutive conference championships and went 12 and two the prior two seasons This team is not those teams, obviously. You complained about Sumrall taking players but when we talk about inexperience on the team, we are wrong. This team does not have the talent as those last two years. There is no Javon Salomon or Richard Jibunor on the edge. We don't have Reddy Steward at corner, or Dell Pettus at Safety. Our QB to start the year had never started a game.

So we are just a 1 and 11 team then I guess. Amazing that James Madison was in the same situation as us now look at their record

Ok explain the lack of passion, the undisciplined play, so many unforced errors, the lack of rock solid culture and attitude of outworking everyone else ?
