It's about this time of year I start to go batty missing college football. So I decided to start this thread so we could talk things other than uniform combinations.
I had some idea I wanted to run past the fanbase to see if they are worth pursuing or if it's just the boredom talking.
1) When the speech from the loud speaker comes on before the start of every game... you know the one: "And so, with mighty warriors clad in strongest armor, and well prepared to receive the lot dealt by fate, The contest is at hand. And the commander's spirit, raging for revenge, shall in a Monarch's voice cry, "Havoc!" And let slip the Dogs of War!" We should make it a thing to recite it along with him.
2) I think "Cry Havoc" should be what we yell during kickoffs or since coach Parker spoke about "raising havoc" we could say Raise Havoc instead.
3) During the pregame when the Sound of the South forms the giant T that is used by the players to run through I think we could change it up slightly. We have the band form the Power T BUT we invite someone to be the point of the sword and lead the procession down the field. Think along the lines of dotting the I over at Ohio State. We could say the qualification is someone who embodies the Trojan Spirit so the honor could go to a student, staff, or member of the community who has done something outstanding. We could make it a big deal.
4) I would like to hold a contest to create a new cheer for Troy. This doesn't mean doing away with the others it just means we add another one. The winner could get primo seats for a game or some Troy swag.
Do you guys have any other ideas? I'd really like to spice up gameday.
Finally, this is something I like to listen to at least once in the off season that makes me feel better:

As to reciting the soliloquy along with the PA announcer I have no problem with that, even though I like the loud, large shout of "HAVOC!" by the crowd as well as the fact that this practice took hold gradually and organically, without any attempt at organizing it. As to a shout during the kickoff, I think " wreak HAVOC! would be great. Why "Wreak (pronounced reek) HAVOC!, you ask? From Dictionary.com: What does wreak havoc mean? To wreak havoc is to cause chaos or destruction or both. Wreak means to inflict or cause. Havoc means chaos, disorder, or confusion. It can also mean destruction, damage, or ruin.
That is what we desire to see our warriors do to the competition. I don't like "CRY HAVOC!" as a stand alone phrase because if one yells that, he is simply imploring others tho shout loudly " HAVOC!", not to "wreak" HAVOC. That's what is taking place in hhe soliloquy as "the commanders spirit, ranging for revenge, shall in a monarch's voice, cry HAVOC! ..." As you can telll, I too am in the off season doldrums and one might say I've spent way too much time thinking about this.

Speaking of Havoc, in these doldrums times, let’s play another prediction game that is semi-football based. (Please don’t get too political) What order will the following occur? A) Troy starts fall camp B) The ACC totally implodes C) Only FSU and perhaps one other school Leaves the ACC D) Joe Biden drops out of Presidential race E) Bill Bellichick and Joey Freshwater start dating teens instead of twenty year olds
Now not all need to occur but in order of occurrence. D/B /A/E

I'm down with Wreak Havoc. "Havoc" has no meaning or inspriration to adopted Trojans like cornhole. Kinda like "One Troy". What?? "One TROY" was the slogan of a campaign by the athletic department to garner support for all TROY athletics. I don't know if the campaign was successful or not, that would be a question for athletic administration, but as a rally cry, it never caught on. As a slogan, maybe, as a rally cry, bleh.

We know stuff, and are smart enough to win without fighting.

I want to differ in how it actually caught on. The masses bought in to at least 0.0035% of the Troy fans. We have talked many times about things come about organically. We should never stop imagining what can be unburdened by what has not caught on in the past! I feel I should probably footnote credit to someone for that saying??? Well anyway One Troy!

I like just the word” Havoc” I like it at kick offs but I could also see it as a chant especially for defense. Starting off slow and getting loud and fast!

I hadn’t heard that as a cheer but the One Troy slogan is from the fight song, Trojans One and All.

Here Ho idea:
1. Do away with TSOTWG. They serve no meaningful purpose during the games other than take up space and money. They spend half of the 1st half tuning their flute and the 2nd half standing in line for a chili dog and coke. They add nothing to the game. Ho not listen to any song played since Johnny Williams last season.
2. Just a Public Service announcement: Troy lost to the Greeks - looking like fools the whole time.
3. There is nothing more irritating than listening to grown men argue over what we should scream when toe-meets-leather. Just stick with what works like "Whup Jax State!"
4. Leave reciting Shakespeare poetry before the game to the Ivy League schools. It might give the Dungeons and Dragons crowd all geared-up, but they also like Peach-flavored Busch Light. The reality is that 9/10ths of the people at the stadium have no idea what is being said and probably scares off most of our good recruits.
5. Fix the home side bathrooms

Can we please just bring back thunder sticks. Never heard a stadium as loud as the vet in 2012 when cow college made a visit

Need thunder sticks. Make a 3/4 filled stadium a lot better home atmosphere with artificial noise makers

A trend I've noticed...
Early on, the media had a very low opinion of the Gerad Parker hire. But slowly, as more people see him talk on podcasts and media days, they are coming around. Not that the ability to speak well means anything on the field, but I think fewer people are writing him off as some kind of (The HC we don’t speak of) repeat. This is good news, and it echoes what many of us who have followed closely feel. It was a good hire, with an even more impressive staff, which will make all the difference. There will be growing pains, and the usual early season detractors (some were hoping off the Sumrall boat after Ole Miss and even after Kansas State), but it will come together nicely in the end. The Trojans will be in the hunt for yet another conference title.
One month away from the best time of the year!

Looking beyond that, his prior experience should hold us in good stead going forward. Certainly no clip off the previous block.

Just a reminder: The season starts 30 days from now. Will the opener be an easy dub at the Vet or will we struggle in a dog fight?
