Tidwell is the only Troy quarterback with game experience, having completed 12 of 19 career passes with a couple of touchdowns. Silvers, the leader of the pack following spring practice, redshirted last fall. In high school, Silvers threw for over 3,800 yards and was rated as the 27th best quarterback of his class. Bravard and Pruitt transferred to Troy from Iowa Western Community College and East Mississippi Community College respectively. Pruitt helped East Mississippi win the NJCAA National Championship in 2013, while Bravard’s Iowa Western finished second. Silvers feels he has what it takes to be the point man for the high powered Troy offense. “I’m pretty confident after spring,” Silvers said. “All I have to do is carry it over to fall camp. I need to work on my deep ball accuracy and getting my feet back under me.” Pruitt feels he brings an added dimension to the Troy offense with his ability to elude tackles with his feet. “I can run the ball,” Pruitt said. “I can keep them on their toes on a zone read or coming out of the pocket in the spread. I like to give the team a little swagger and keep it upbeat.” The Trojans continue practice Friday at 8:30 a.m. ( Full Article) ttimesmall

Had not seen this Pruitt video yet. Very Impressive. On the field, Pruitt looks like Jerrel Jernigan with a much better arm.

In my person opinion Pruitt is the better athlete and QB, but just needs time to learn the offense. But I'm for whoever the coaches deem fit for the starting roll.

I think we play two quarterbacks this year with Silvers starting.

Silvers is much, much more athletic than Corey was. He can dunk a basketball and runs very well. I think he starts with Pruitt playing also. I want whoever can help us win but the thought of having Silvers for 4 years you can't help but get excited about that. His uncle helped lead us to the 84 national championship, hoping he leads us to several championships and bowl victories also.

DT84 saw where CLB said whoever ends practice with the least turnovers gets the job. Both are exciting players. Sure would be nice to see a 50-50 system giving Silvers plenty of rest as a RSF and keeping them both at the top of their game. Going to be interesting seeing as how the OL is getting much better reviews this season.
I miss the good ole trick play Omar days. Hope we work this back in the game plan seeing as how we have the talent to line up anywhere and do it.

I worry about the ole saying "if you have two quarterbacks you have no quarterbacks"

saintflorian I have some of the same concerns. I have seen very few teams succeed using 2 QB system. They may have winning season, but the big games and championships not usually happening. In the end need one true leader. I think the big ? on Silvers being the lone ranger is that he is young, has never played in a D1 game (which is much different from HS and against your own team in scrimmage), time will handle that after the season starts.
I did have some other questions, as I have not been to fall practice nor scrimmages. It appears Silvers and Pruitt are top 2, and Tidwell is in the top 3 according to media days, and the difference between the 3 according to OC is slim, what is the drop off after those 3? My concern is finishing season with any of the 3 who start still being the starter with some tough games first of season (Duke and Georgia), and then having all 3 back next season. If Pruitt or Tidwell graduate (and I would think that is a possibility) they could both transfer without sitting out a year somewhere? ( I know Tidwell could, not sure on Juco rules) that being if they are both graduating in December or May? Does anyone know that answer about will they be graduating? Also, if that happens how far is the drop to number 4 and 5? Brevard had some hype, but have heard little this fall on him. Any insid

Any insid Leadership is a very key component, but the sticking point has been not turning the ball over. In regards to leadership, I believe they both command the offense well, whereas, DT has some "confidence" issues. As I've previously stated, just from a leadership standpoint, I'd go with Pruitt because he has demonstrated the ability to win a championship outside of the HS ranks. No matter who the starter is, I'm going to as many games as I can to watch this group...I think this is going to be the "back to the top" party of our Troy Trojans. It's been far too long!

They both have intangibles. Pruitt has won a championship, runs very well and has a great arm. My only concern with him is his size and whether he can take the hits. Silvers has the size, very good speed, great arm and is confident in his ability. My concern with him is just lack of game experience. I feel confident with either one but I lean slightly in favor of Silvers. I think you will see both play. I like having one QB lead the team but if two works then go with it. I didn't like the way that Deon and Corey alternated in that it made it a little predictable as to what Deon was going to do when brought in on third down. I look forward to watching whoever runs the offense and look forward to the potential both bring. It will be nice having two QB's who can run in this offense

It will be nice having two QB's who can run in this offense Larry has already said that it would not be a system like last year. It would be more like what South Carolina has run. Each would run a series and have a complete package to run while they are in there. Whoever had the hot hand would see more action like in basketball. That may have been KE at media day after first scrimmage.

I understand the opinions and the way things seem to be going, by biggest question/concern is after this year or middle of year, if we have to call on a #3 guy and if Tidwell transfers or graduates, what have others looked like? It happened a few years back and long season ahead by really ahead next year too. Hoping only the best Silvers stays healthy and Pruitt or Tidwell great backup or vs. however, if Tidwell and/or Pruitt have chance to leave, where does this leave us.

I know that there's a log jam right now...5 on schollies and 2 walk-ons, I believe...there is no lack of competition to this point. Whoever wants it is gonna have to get it and fight to keep it. I can't see how the program can lose like that.
