Looks like Sumrall snagged another quality transfer. 4-star OL Colby Smith from Auburn. He's 6'8", 315 lbs and saw spare playing time last season at Auburn.

Heard a coach say, “always remember there is a reason these guys are in the portal.” Yes, some reasons are legit and good, but majority have issues. Point is, it’s always a roll of dice. But I’m glad Sumrall is rolling them. And I’m sure he has done his diligence. Hope it works out.

If I’m not mistaken our new OL coach would have worked with this guy while at Auburn too, so there is familiarity.

You are correct, i love the added players for position battles, the guys who can play will rise to the top

Troy lost a decent amount of backup players to the transfer portal. Guys that were probably not going to even see the field this year.
Yet we're replacing them with players that clearly have talent, and that even played some at their previous school as freshmen. That's a pretty good trade-off. Solid roster building.

MarKendrick Beall was likely going to be a starter at guard (he started with the ones at T-Day) and he hit the portal. Smith moved to guard at Auburn this spring. He was working with the third unit by the end of the spring but with it being a new position I think there is obviously a ton of room for growth there. I feel like Troy will probably start him out there. He has three years of eligibility, so if its not working out at guard he can always move back to tackle. He's gigantic, so I feel like at the very least it gives you some solid depth.

This Needs to have more information about what it is. More specifically, who is running it, exactly how the money is spent, on who, when, etc. etc. A Full Prospectus, if you will. Had a buddy say, that looks like a George Constanza charity when he was peddling the “Human Fund” on Seinfeld.

There have been many of these that popped up post NIL announcement. The players listed on the site are the ones who get the funds.

I have not spoken to him and I'm gonna be honest, I haven't even really thought about it since right after he announced... Now, I'm looking at his Twitter and he's completely blacked it out and removed his announcement. He also received an offer from Texas State right after (and I assumed maybe he just wanted to get back closer to home). I gotta look into it more, its kinda weird.

Look who shows his face. Answer my question about if “See you first game” is a threat or not.

Texas St has a significant NIL fund.
