Not sure if many of you know... but Chanda Rigby is only TWO wins away from getting Troy back to a .500 all-time record in women's basketball.
In 2002, the women's basketball program's all-time record went sub .500, with a 367-381 record... and it kept getting worse from there.
Michael Murphy took over the program from 2002-2012... and he only had two winning seasons in that span. Troy's all-time losing record had ballooned even further to 477-560 just before Chanda Rigby took over.
And now, with Rigby in her 11th season at Troy, she has improved Troy's all-time record to 684-686... but she's only three wins away from bringing Troy basketball ALL THE WAY BACK to a winning record. I wasn't sure if that would ever be accomplished, simply because of how bad some of the seasons were between 2002-2012, plus the amount of time it would take to accomplish such a feat.... BUT RIGBY IS ABOUT TO DO IT.
Troy was arguably one of the worst D1 women's basketball programs for years. Now she has Troy competing for SBC titles, NCAA tourney bids, beating P5's, and being considered one of the best programs among all mid-majors.
LET'S GO CHANDA RIGBY!!!

What an accomplishment.
To think she's done that in just over a decade is mind-boggling. She and her staff are the real deal and we are so fortunate to have her as our HC.
Go TROY!

There will be a statue of her one day in front of Trojan Arena if she sticks around long enough.

She seems really happy at Troy. I'm confident Brent is doing what it takes to keep her around.

The world of women’s basketball is ripe for a Gonzaga of men’s to be set up. The monies differential is not nearly as great as it is in men’s or in football so that too is a thing working in our favor. If she wants to do it and stays here, she may well develop that level of program that can compete with any P5. That alone can bring her opportunities to her that are beyond just her salary. With all that said, yep a statue may well be in the making outside Trojan arena. Not many folks in many sports anywhere reach that status.

She is a great coach. I don’t like basketball and certainly don’t like women’s basketball but that team this year is fun to watch. They play hard and smart and play to the last second. Troy basketball (men’s and women’s) is the only basketball I watch.

She took an absolute dumpster fire of a program and in her 3rd year had it winning and in postseason play. And has maintained the success. Good coach.

I had worried this might happen after such a great week last week. It's OK. We've still got the lead, and really the tournament matters most.
