Beautiful weekend in Troy for T-Day. I’ve always felt that Troy has a beautiful campus, and the beautiful new buildings have taken it to the next level. However, I noticed that as much as the University has improved, the roads and buildings surrounding it have not. Many of the streets in or around the campus don’t look like they’ve been paved since I attended the university years ago.
Some of the older neighborhoods and even business districts look run down and broken. Is there anything the city of Troy can do, because if I’m driving into the campus from these side streets (other than S. George Wallace Drive), it doesn’t give me a positive feeling.

I know the city can do better. I'm thinking back to November of 1985 when my family and I attended the Troy-Jax St game in Troy. Being from Cent FL and not knowing anything about Troy State or Troy, AL my Dad turned on Brundige St and ended up down by the square and the old Pi Kap and Delta Chi house. He said quote "You aren't going to school in this dump of a town" I said can we at least see the campus. Once we found the campus everything changed and I knew this is where I wanted to go to school and play football at. Almost didn't happen lol

Brundige Street is one of the streets that needs a lot of work. Unfortunately, as bad as it may have looked back then, it looks even worse today!

City of Troy could, and should, do better at prioritizing making the city streets, and overall aesthetics better.

Next time y’all are in Troy, just fill out an application for city commissioner! Having lived here MOL 20 years, City of Troy has had priorities on point for what funds are available.

While we're on the topic of infrastructure, when was the last conversation about a decent airport for visiting teams?

While we're on the topic of infrastructure, when was the last conversation about a decent airport for visiting teams? I’m not saying Troy doesn’t need a “decent” airport. I don’t fly on a regular basis, so I’m mo expert on airport quality. I do know that visiting teams rarely, if ever, stay in the city in which the game is played. Visiting teams to Troy are most likely to overnight in Montgomery and there is a quality regional airport there. Troy May need an airport upgrade, but not for visiting teams to use.

In the past, Troy Football has boarded and flown out of Dothan. Last I checked, Dothan was served by Delta Airlines only, and charters. I doubt if there is land available to extend Troy's runways for accommodating larger charters.

Didn't Troy just get draft beer just recently? Might be asking a lot to get paved streets and a airport upgrade

I think I can help you understand as I speak Ocalan: Draft beer has the word draft in it. Draft horse has draft in it Horse power has horse in it Glue has horses in it He is promoting gluing the roads together with people that get drafted to do the work with horse powered machines. That is the interpretation because what else could he meant.😎
