Deon Sanders has just changed the game in College football by signing the Nation #1 recruit. Wait until National Signing Day in February.....Deon has brought a 30 million dollar impact to the Jackson community, packing out a 60,000 facility at Jackson State University, and sold out the Mercedes Benz Stadium for the Celebration National Championship in Atlanta, Georgia this weekend. .
My point, by hiring the right Coach can be a major impact on a program

I don’t think he would have gone had there not been the huge NIL deal that came with going there. But coach does help, probably combo of both in this one!

Don’t for a second think that Deion alone is the reason Hunter chose JSU. That Supposed 2M deal with Barstool Sports for him to have his own show would have swayed this kid to anywhere with the best connection to barstool. Yes, Deion obviously played a part in that, but anyone could win in that conference if they had a quarter the resources he has.

He has name recognition, got a bunch of FBS transfers and it is hands down the weakest FCS conference in the country. The GSC could compete in the SWAC

Nothing wrong with it. Sometimes for some people when you're part of a minority group it's more comfortable being around more people who look like/are like you than around a larger group that isn't. College is about more than playing football. The money helps, too.

He is the same as Billy Joe when he coached Central St and FAMU. Got a bunch of D1 transfers and dominated. FAMU made the move up to D1 when he was there and it was a disaster. He couldn't get the transfers to be eligible year one like 1-AA and they couldn't compete. FAMU has more money than Jackson St and they couldn't make it work. He will get hired away and then find out that it isn't as easy as competing in the SWAC

They already a D1 AA school and their football stadium and fan is twice the size of our beloved Troy. Only 6 SEC schools have a bigger Stadium....people are now WOKE.

FAMU is D1 in all sports except football same as JSU. They have a $35,000,000 larger endowment than Jackson St, more students, a engineering school, Pharmacy school, nursing and law school that Jackson St doesn't have. The only reason they are in the news in because Deon Sanders got a bunch of FBS players to transfer there and they play in a joke of a conference. Ask them what they drew for fans before Prime Time got there

It’s not about who you recruit. I’d rather have a whole team of walk-on, determined players like Carlton Martial than a full team of 5 stars who are being influenced by big corporations desires to make them tv stars. And more 5 stars and 4 NFL HOFers hasn’t won JSU a single Major title.

Well we own our stadium and theirs is owned by the city of Jackson. Theirs had support from Ole Miss and Miss. State for a long time and is the reason the capacity is what it is. They are also in a much bigger city than ours. False equivalency.

You aren’t buying into what HCJS is saying if you think it’s only about the optics of ***** beside a kids name.

And I’m sure it’ll be a great game. I enjoyed watching JSU this season. It’s been good football. But don’t act like it’s anywhere near the level of FCS Championship Game or even an SBC Conference Championship. It’s 20 teams competing in a bowl game that’s been around for 6 years. They’re just not there talent wise, and that’s ok.

Tell that to Georgia, Alabama, and Clemson. bet that Jon Sumrall will try and recruit the highest ranked players he thinks he can get here. Also in today’s recruiting landscape, the film is out there for everyone. It’s very hard for many hidden gems. Yes there are some but these guys are so heavily scrutinized from the time they are high schoolers, these coaches know nearly everything about them.

Yes there are some but these guys are so heavily scrutinized from the time they are high schoolers, these coaches know nearly everything about them. Many of Alabamas best players under Saban have been 3 stars. (Obviously they have a ton of successful 4 and 5 stars) But where Bama succeeds is with development. They can take raw talent and mold it into an amazing player. That takes the student having a hard work ethic, the coach having a demeanor and a discipline to train, and some amazing strength and conditioning. We NOW have ALL of those things. To my original point, JSU might have a coach that’s great, but they don’t have the competition on the field (even in practice) to sharpen kids, and they’re a million light years away from having the proper facilities.
