I know many do not keep up with social media, but over the past several days there have been several "sources" that have hinted that the C-USA teams (Marshall, Old Dominion, Southern Miss) would like to come to the SBC NEXT year. Probably the one "source" that was easiest to identify was THIS ONE (LaLaAD).Today's news might be an indication there is more to that story than just "sources": Arkansas Democrat - THIS morningThen this afternoon: UALR to Ohio Valley Conference

I was pleased to see this. Football is the biggest money draw. I was wonder about bowl games will the sun belt get another tie in? I have a feeling this will make it easier for us to move to the West division

I believe JMU will have to wait one year till 2023 unless the NCAA gives them a waiver.

I believe JMU will have to wait one year till 2023 unless the NCAA gives them a waiver. I believe that JMU, Jax St and Sam Houston State are applying for waivers based on the amount of scholarship players they have on their roster currently due to the covid stay and play that came into play last year due to the pandemic. I, personally hope the NCAA gives them the waiver. No reason to wait any longer, us there?

All for adding new members and making the SBC the strongest in G5, but didn’t we have to jump through a lot of hoops back in the day? Seem to remember a three yr transition with attendance minimums? Does JMU get to skip all that?

Does JMU get to skip all that? The transition is in place to help teams 'transitiin' into FBS by getting recruits, monies, etc. As for the other requirements, if you remember, we had to add-on to our stadium to get to 17,500, etc. JMU already has a 25K stadium in place and sell it out routinely because if their success. Hopefully the NCAA will take in those consideration (Sam Houston State is in a very similar situation). With the current landscape of college football right now, I would think the Sun Belt would lobby HARD to get this done. I hope so anyway. BTW, the NEW Sunbelt Conference East Division is going to be a BEAST!!! West will be very competitive as well, but not up to the East....YET

Heck, Lamar and Stephen are way ahead of Sam for that matter in both those areas.
