I would be fine with Corn. Can't say whether the receivers performance was more about the OC or not, but Gary hasn't proven himself either way. If the salary pool is as big as some are saying, we need to be getting the best we can get. I understand the desire to retain guys like Whitt, Hardman, and Pogue though, and Smooth if possible. If he wants 500k for OC and DC does that mean Brandon Hall stays and gets a huge pay raise or a slight pay raise and they bring in someone else to also be co-DC with Hall?

I have heard that Bam, Smooth, Gary Banks and Brandon are staying. Not sure on anyone else. John Carr has been released.

I’d like to see Gary stay and bring back Cornelius as the other receiver coach I’m not sure that happens. I know. It’s all speculative right now. Whoever the OC is will determine several of the assistants and position coaches.

Some speculation on my part, Brandon Hall may be staying. Truly it was the offensive staff who needed replacing. I thought our defensive staff were good and now they have a defensive guy to help oversee as well. I’d like to see Cornelius Williams come back as WRs again and Pugh back to coach OL. 110% we don't need Pugh back.

I really think that with the tweet by Sylvester and what you have heard is great news. I know not everyone was thrilled with Hall but that side of the ball if PLAYING LESS TIME ON THE FIELD is really not to bad or could say actually good. The O side of the ball is where we have the problems. Mr Carr was not one that I was expressing interest in keeping on staff. However, that opinion is not a well informed (to a degree that would or should be necessitated) for a strong opinion to keep or release.

So most likely, these folks are out:
Luke Meadows - OC/OL
John Carr - PGC/WR
Dayne Brown - Special teams coordinator/TE Cole Weeks - RB coach David Duggan - director of recruiting Matt Hassan - director of football operations
These are the only (The HC we don’t speak of) (The HC we don’t speak of) original hires I can see staying:
Gary Banks - WR coach
Andrew Warwick - LB coach Caleb Ross - director of player personnel & high school relations

Iâm a dummy and no nothing about these coaches, but it seems we have done well in recruiting and at RB when the protection is good. So I would hope that those things are considered with regards to these coaches.

I don’t know Pugh from Adam’s House cat, but I asked in a different thread, what’s the reason for keeping him? Output when he was here was low. So, absent a good, output-oriented argument (ie not feelings), why is bringing him back a good thing? Absent an argument, I’d say no. Whoever wants him, please share, so that I can learn what you believe that I’m missing.

Luke Meadows OL was awful against everyone. Neither should be considered for the job.

I don't think a 29-year old guy who was a backup QB at Southern Miss should be coaching our RB's. Stupid, stupid move by (The HC we don’t speak of) (The HC we don’t speak of).
Cole Weeks has never played the position... he's never been coached at the position as an athlete... and he has never been a coach at the position... he doesn't even have high school coaching experience at the position. He had never coached RB's in his career until he arrived at Troy. And I can tell you one thing I noticed this season, and that was the RB's weren't very good at blocking, among other little things... so that means they weren't taught well by Weeks.
I think Troy's RB's could benefit from getting a new RB coach who knows more about the position and knows how to maximize their skills and talents. All of our previous RB coaches had previous experience coaching that position at some level.

Was wondering then why/how he was selected to call plays in the GaState game two weeks ago. I would have assumed that John Carr might have gotten the nod. Agree with CBT and take it further, there were myriad of puzzling personnel decisions by that HC. Darn near destroyed the program with that first Physical Trainer hire.

And yes, that S&C coach was a complete disaster... that was a big red flag.

Eeyore was illogical and decisions were not any way described as full of profundity. If they were it was a logic no other football coach, fan, player, or AD could understand or has ever observed. My guess his days of coaching at the level of head coach are over. I still wish him well. I was just unaware of a RB coach having no experience as an RB in any capacity.

In a hour I could have designed a half a dozen plays that Georgia State would have had trouble defending at a moments notice. We did not even try to do that despite it being the ideal time to try. Again, no logical reason not to do that.

Footballscoop.com reporting Troy: Sources tell FootballScoop Jon Sumrall has retained outside linebackers coach Bam Hardmon and head strength coach Rusty Whitt. Per HCJS interview on 97.7 the Zone last night with Steve Moulton and Wes Neighbors it sounds like Al Pouge is being retained as well. They asked if he was leaning on any coaches as his right hand man and coach explained his relationship with Bam and Al. Here is the link to the interview. 977espn.com/podcasts/97-7-espn-the-zone-podcast I can't find the interview from yesterday morning on the same channel.
