Troy’s offensive trademark for the last decade has been passing, but with an experienced offensive line and a deep running back corps, that could change in 2014. The Trojans have completed 300 or more passes the past seven years, and Corey Robinson threw for more than 3,000 yards in each of his four seasons at the helm of the Troy offense. With Robinson’s departure, though, Troy has a few talented but inexperienced quarterbacks vying for the starting role. This season, the running backs could steal the show – or at least buy some time until the starting quarterback (whoever it may be) feels comfortable in Troy’s spread. All running backs, except Daron White, are returning this fall. White (15 carries for 44 yards) has left the team but remains in school. ( Full Article)

"Coming back is junior tailback Brandon Burks, who was last year’s leading rusher (675 yards, two touchdowns in 2013). He looked bigger and more physical this spring than he did last year."
This is indicative of what the roster reflects. He was 195 last season, and now he is 203 as of this spring. Chunn has put on five pounds, as well. Ten to fifteen other players, one being Lonnie Gosha (265 to 288) have bulked up since last season. This, and with what could be "new accountability" during summer workouts/practice could produce some improved defensive production this fall. June 23rd (Monday) is reporting day for freshman (tweeted by incoming freshman WR Blace Brown), and may also be the day the JUCOs and returning members arrive. We should see more changes to the roster shortly.

I believe credit for this image goes to TroyFootball05 iconTroy3 That play reminds of a certain Troy player who plays for The Giants. It comes from this video in case anyone missed it. The first half of the video highlights Chunn, Burks, and The O-Line. 4 of 5 O-Line return, 8 or 10 deep, and add Ole Miss Transfer Ethan Hutson. The top three running backs return bulked up from weights this summer. I'll be surprised if this group is not improved.

In reference to the article saying Burks looked bigger this spring than he did last year, here are the top four RB's weights compared to last year:
RB (32) Brandon Burkes: 195 to 203 RB (36) Jordan Chunn: 226 to 231 RB (15) Khari Franklin: 171 to 179 RB (5) Tim Longmire: 191 to 205
Richard Shaughnessy and Co. are doing good work in the weight room.
