When are we going to have a coaching staff in place? The other schools are filling their positions, and I don't want the leftovers!

The season will tell but I have my doubts on this hire. No head coaching experience and right into D1.

I'll just say this: JH has not made a coaching misstep thus far. He is very deliberate about his searches and he doesn't play favorites. All this is getting done on a shoestring budget and he's stll hittin' 'em outta da park. Rest assured, given time for expectations to be realized, we'll all see if it was right or wrong, good or bad. Go Trojans!

Still early to say " knocked out of the park". Cunnigham should have a better year this season and at least we had some high school recruits signed. Soccer and softball haven't played yet. The test is wins vs loses.

I feel like we will hear some news soon on the assistant coach area.
I think I'll have a beer.

Are they planning on hiring a coach to work with the pitchers or does this finish the staff? I know O'Mara handled the pitchers on the old staff.

They better hire a pitching coach. On some of the other softball message boards, they said that neither Mullins nor Cloer were pitching coaches. I would love to have someone with head coaching experience that is maybe close to retiring or an old fast-pitch men's pitcher to come in. Think about Clint Myers, Mike White, the guy at Baylor, as all of those guys played fast-pitch back in the day when men played. Obviously, those guys are elite, but that is the type that I am hoping for. USA hired Rachel Fico, a standout at LSU, but also very young and unproven. I feel like we need some experience in the mix.

Having coached travel softball for 6 years you have to know what your doing to coach pitching. It's a realm of its own and you have to know what your doing. My other concern other than no head coaching experience is their age. They are not a lot older than the players and sometimes that can be a problem, not always but their have been instances. We have seen it a lot at the high school level with young female coaches.

It's time to get behind our new coaches and support them in elevating our programs and our university...Go Trojans!
