Again, just because someone does not agree with your political views does not make someone Anti-American or certainly not a freak. View AttachmentPi$$ on her and every other woke anthem kneeler. Go play soccer for kim Jun Un I’m not disregarding your personal opinion on Rapinoe or anyone else, and I love that we currently have the freedom to express our opinions on people’s stances… but if you think more 20 year old female soccer players align with your political thought processing than they do with Rapinoe you’re off your rocker 😂

I like Troy tennis, and they get more support than you think, especially for big matches. We have WAY more history and success in both men's and women's tennis than we do in soccer. Men's tennis has 3 NCAA Tournament appearances... 5 conference titles... has been nationally ranked on multiple occasions... heck, last year they went 20-4. Even back in 1993, Troy made it to the NCAA Championships and finished ranked #8 in the nation. Women's soccer hasn't done much of... anything... in its entire history. Keep the tennis. Troy Tennis has been a draw for lots of international students also. Careful...xenophobia looms large on this board. Everybody knows non-Americans are the downfall of our athletic programs.

Politics, religion and sex. Things you should not talk about on a first date or a sports fan board?

Man thatâs deep and SO true. I bet that achieving a near 100% agreement on getting rid of our head coach is the only thing we could talk about that wonât offend or bother someone. Now I know we would all want to win every game so besides that agreement. So I think we should thank (The HC we don’t speak of) for being a great unifier at this time where we have varying political or religious point of views I donât include sex in that because I am pretty sure most of us agree thatâs pretty good stuff. So here is to (The HC we don’t speak of) and an activity that should not have spectators because we all are pretty well on board with those two!!!!

In all of the reading I have done in the past several weeks, it seems that one of the items of discussion that was delaying Marshall's response to the Sun Belt was what would happen with their MEN's Soccer Team?IF JMU and ODU come to the Sun Belt WITH Marshall that adds THREE Men's Soccer Programs to Sun Belt's existing THREE Men's Soccer Programs; Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, and Georgia State. Is not SIX the magic number with the NCAA to have a conference champion? What is amazing is that those three additions to the conference ONLY have a total of twelve players from the states that make up the current Sun Belt footprint! That could be a sport for future growth for the Sun Belt, said the man from one of the soccer hotbeds of Alabama SO if THE CONFERENCE added a men's sport, could we add a women's sport (without much monetary investment other than travel monies)? There are four sports that have a presence already in the Sun Belt that at least one of the potential newcomers also play: 1) Beach Volleyball (WHO KNEW, I didn't) already played by three SBC teams plus USM, 2) Swimming & Diving at Georgia Southern and the three northern schools (I guess you have to be able to do something inside when it is cold), 3) Field Hockey played at App State, James Madison, and Old Dominion I wonder how easy it would be for those athletes to transition to soccer (feet instead of sticks) to keep them enrolled in school?, 4) Lacrosse only played at Coastal and James Madison is a surprise to me since it has been gaining momentum in Alabama and I assumed the southeast. In an attempt to get this thread back on track … this article goes in depth about the POTENTIAL of Men’s Soccer in the Sun Belt. www.wvgazettemail.com/sports/marshall_university/sources-marshalls-move-to-sun-belt-imminent/article_8d9ed2fb-7047-5ef3-96f0-cc5eba37dc45.html

If you can’t talk about Sex Politics and Religion what else is there? Oh Troy Athletics. I would be very happy to keep tennis and add Soccer! I’m not a fan of Lacrosse but look for that as well! Universities are trying to add sports that are appealing to young males to attend!

They already had that in 1989 at the Front Porch but I also remember when a different establishment had Bear wrestling!

Sun Belt Commissioner Keith Gill confirms men’s soccer returning. Based on the strength of the soccer programs involved this should be a sport that gains national recognition for the SBC. It will be interesting to see how this plays out either next year or in 2023.

This might trigger a few xenophobic outbursts on the board....Ho can hear it now: "Everybody knows we already have enough foreign athletes running around campus ruining our athletic programs and America. God help us if they are any good and we have to keep them around."

Y’all all missing the point between this Administration decising between Men’s Tennis and Men’s Soccer.
Tennis is cheaper. Don’t expect this Administration to pony up. And they damn sure will not add another women’s sport in order to meet Title IX to add men’s soccer.
Hawkins and AD Jones still think Soccer is a sport brewed up by the communists.
To Ho’s point, not a lot of forward thinking in Troy Alabama.

To Ho’s point, not a lot of forward thinking in Troy Alabama. Curious as to how tuition rates work. My daughter attended on the Millenium Scholarship (31 ACT and 4.65 GPA in IB Program) just a little smarter than her old dad lol. I love Troy but there was no way in hell I was going to pay $565 a credit hour in out of state tuition. So I never did ask if the scholarship paid out of state or in state? Also on athletic scholarships does it pay in state or out of state. Having 10 on tennis scholarship at out of state (out of country) compared to 20 on soccer and maybe getting 10 in state plus drawing spectators. Just a thought Hawkins and AD Jones still think Soccer is a sport brewed up by the communists. Not a problem, Hawkins is in bed with Communist China

I’d love to see men’s soccer at Troy. However the way our ladies receive support I doubt our men would. The seating capacity at the soccer field / track is terrible.
Let’s just be better at what we already do.

Let’s just be better at what we already do. They drew 1,500 fans to a game when Jason Hamilton had they winning and winning big. Nobody wants to come out and watch a team win 2 or 4 games a season and few to none local players means no parents or families at games

I didn’t really mean fan support

I didn’t really mean fan support Maybe not, but winning is fun to watch, losing is not. The famous philosopher Vince Lombardi said " Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing"
