LENNOXVILLE -- Have you heard the one about the bear in the woods? Trust us. Bear Woods has. He’s heard every joke there is about his name. But this is no joke. The 27-year-old import is expected to be the Alouettes’ starting middle linebacker this season, replacing Shea Emry, who signed with Toronto as a free agent. News occasionally takes its time travelling to Macclenny, Fla., a city in the northern part of the state, just west of Jacksonville. So, when Woods — Jonathan Mark on his driver’s licence — learned of Emry’s defection to the Argonauts, he could be excused for requiring a second reading, just to make sure he got the facts correct. www.montrealgazette.com/touch/story.html?id=9900977I think I'll have a beer.

Wish we had more payers like Bear. He played the game with heart, passion and hustle. He was also a leader on and off the field. If any former Trojan deserves success it is Bear. Wish him the best and as bad as I dislike French Canadians, I will be a Montreal fan.
