Great post Cornhole, Mrs Cheryl will be missed by many. She ran their office as well as anybody could run a physicians office. She was right beside Mickey for most Troy football games, a true Trojan!
We've lost several Trojan ladies lately, Mrs Cheryl, Joan Beard (husband Benny spear headed the move to D-1), Mrs Glenda Locklar (mom to Vegas Trojan Eric and wife to Wiley Locklar), Margie Sutton was as big a Troy baseball supporter as there is. This is just in the last month (roughly). Sad times around here.
I left off a huge loss from this summer that we've already mentioned. Dr Jean Laliberte loved Troy as much as anyone ever has.
My gosh I forgot another one, Mrs Arlene Davis.
That's 6 ladies who were HUGE for Troy athletics and the city of Troy. Really unbelievable in this short a time span.
Is Miss Anne (Williams) still around? I don't see her at any of the games last year
I saw her sometime in the last couple of seasons, but not this most recent one. One of my most vivid memories of TROY football is seeing Miss Anne in her black dress and black hat with a read ribbon or feather, walk along the railing on the home side separating the stands from the playing field. She walked from goal line to goal line, always positioned on the line of scrimmage, often with a pom-pom/shaker in her hand, cheering on her TROJANS.
