If the Sun Belt is committed to playing football this Fall, then to help all our schools, why not play 9 Conference games? It would seem to help fill the scheduling holes created by the schools cancelling football. If we play MTSU twice, then we would only need one more game to complete the 12 game schedule.
It is likely that some of the schools in the Conferences that decide to not play this Fall will go rouge and want to find teams to play starting in September. My guess is both the Big 10 and Pac 12 will bail out so there may be a few of those programs that will want to schedule games to play in the coming months.
I suppose we need to wait and see where the chips fall, then determine next steps.
Go TROY!

I would rather prefer scheduling Nebraska or Iowa then, we need the money.

I would rather prefer scheduling Nebraska or Iowa then, we need the money. I’d still like an FCS game if it’s possible.

I predict 8 conference games, the home and home with MTSU, an FCS home game, and a surprise road game.
Of course all that could change with the Big 10 announcement.

Assuming this season is allowed to happen will there be any bowl games for us to play in?

I am sure the powers at be in Oregon would never risk Covid and allow playing. Which in the end may in fact be the right choice. But the powers that be are fine with “The Portland Games” now in their 1,453 day (yes I know a slight exaggeration)

Currently I give us a 10% chance of playing the season. If the SEC cancels and the Big 12, I just don't see a 2 conference college football season. And can Troy sustain the expense of the season minus the Tennessee payout, the no show of NC State at home, a 9 or 10 game schedule and very few fans if any in the stands. This is going to get interesting. I feel like I'm in the Bizzaro world right now
