This week's South Alabama-Troy baseball series... MOBILE, Alabama - Last season, South Alabama and Troy met at Stanky Field in the final Sun Belt Conference regular-season series for both teams, chasing the league's regular-season championship. Troy won two of the three games and the teams shared to title. Thursday, when the teams close out the 2014 regular season at Troy's Riddle-Pace Field, there is a much different goal in mind for both teams - gaining eligibility for the Sun Belt Conference tournament, which the Jaguars will host next week, May 21-25 at Stanky Field. A lot of factors are in place, including how other teams in the league fare this week, but the best plan for both teams is the most simple: win games. Only the top eight teams in the 10-team league earn spots in the tournament. It's possible South Alabama, 10-16 in league play and in seventh place heading into the Troy series, could earn a spot in the tournament with just one win this week; two wins would likely lock up a spot. Troy is in ninth place with a 9-17 record and currently out of the mix for a tournament spot. The Trojans likely need to win the series to earn a spot. ( Full Article)

Wow, back to back wins and TROY is right back in the hunt for a tournament spot.
How fitting that , even after they stole a victory from us in Mobile by manipulating the rain delay rule we can still get get into the tourney by going through them.
Go Trojans beat the Jags !

Has Troy ever won the conference tournament to go to regionals? I know our last two trips to the NCAA was because we won the regular season. This year we are below .500 so we have to win the tournament...period. Beating ULL will be difficult but they are probably coasting because they will go no matter what. Hope we can win this.
