Qualifying for the NCAA championships as an individual golfer is a tall task given that the odds of accomplishing the feat are one out of 50. While statistically the odds are no greater for Jared Bettcher to accomplish the feat, one cannot help but feel the Troy freshman’s chances are just a bit better. After a standout freshman year, the Auburn High graduate will begin a quest to reach the national tournament Thursday -- and that journey just so happens to start at home at the Auburn University Club in the NCAA Regionals. "I feel like I have an advantage over even the Auburn (University) golfers,” he said in an interview with the Dothan Eagle Monday. “I’ve been playing that course since I was 10 or 11.
