iconTroy3 Not a Johnny fan but there is no comparison in them. Manziel won, did it in the SEC also. Hope Corey makes it but I don't see him as a better QB

iconTroy3 I'm calling BS on that...Did DWare play in the $EC? Did Osi play in the $EC? What about Mario Addison? Leodis? Jerrel? You get where I'm going with this, right? To me, CR is in the NCAA record books because of what he did, not what conference he played in... Not a Johnny fan but there is no comparison in them. Manziel won, did it in the SEC also. Hope Corey makes it but I don't see him as a better QB

I believe Manziel is not fast enough to dance around NFL-caliber defenders that are quicker and take better angles than anyone he ever played with. Corey, while I'd like the best for him right away, will do well on a an NFL taxi squad, honing his skills.

That may be true, but the original post was about stats. No need to discount what CR did on teams with turnover issues and lackluster defenses. And the biggest kicker was splitting time with a wildcat QB every year.

He was every bit as good or better IMO i hope all our guys make it but I think Corey will have a very hard time. I agree that he will need time on a practice squad or the CFL. The reason I have doubts is Levi didn't make it and Levi was a better Pro prospect. In fact was drafted.

The Jags got the best one in Bortells IMO, time will tell. He has the size, tools and work ethic to be a good one. i know the scouts had issues with Manziels mechanics in throwing as I am sure they did with Corey's completely side arm throwing. However Kosar threw side arm also and he was the last good QB Cleveland had lol

Your comments were that JFF was better than CR because he played in the $EC. Deon is an awesome athlete and QB. No argument. There were times I wished that he was the guy because CR was a turnover machine for a while. But, that's not what this thread was about.
