The Orlando Sentinel’s college insider Matt Murschel has ranked all 128 Football Bowl Subdivision teams in the country entering the 2014 season. Today at No. 128: Georgia State Coach: Trent Miles (0-12, entering 2nd season; 20-48 overall) 2013 record: 0-12 (0-7 in Sun Belt Conference, 8th in Sun Belt) Look back: It isn’t easy to build a football program from scratch and quickly prepare to compete at college football’s highest division. Georgia State sprinted through the process. The Panthers officially launched the football program in April 2008, played their first college football season in 2010 and vaulted to the Football Bowl Subdivision in 2013. Georgia State, based in Atlanta, was identified as a program with great potential for growth and the invitation to the Sun Belt cleared the Panthers’ path to the top level of college football. Georgia State endured a bumpy FBS debut, posting a 0-12 record in 2012 under new coach Trent Miles. The team struggled to both pick up stops and extend drives. Georgia State gave up an average of 36.7 points per game, tying for No. 109 in the nation last season. The team managed just 18.8 points per contest, tying for No. 112 in the nation. I can see them winning two games this season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I believe they might see more than two wins. There is a lot of momentum behind their program and there will be a lot more talent on their roster this year.
