USM will be tough to handle this year (+ this will be game 3 for USM and game 2 for Troy early in the season, huge disadvantage for us) 2019 CUSA returning production (as of Jan. 31) 1. Southern Miss (4th in the nation) - 94% OFF - 71% DEF - 82% TOTAL csnbbs.com/thread-878553.html“Few teams in college football will return as much on offense as Southern Miss will for 2019. All five offensive linemen, headlined by freshman All-America center Trace Clopton are back. The team's two leading rushers from last season, Trivenskey Mosley and Steven Anderson, return, along with the team's five leading receivers, including All-Conference USA standout Quez Watkins. Quarterback Jack Abraham also returns after completing an FBS-best 73.1 percent of his passes with 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 2018.” eu.clarionledger.com/story/sports/college/southern-miss/2019/06/29/southern-miss-football-qb-jack-abraham-raves-returning-offensive-talent/1600791001/

It would not surprise me to lose this game. We lost a lot of defensive production to graduation and the transfer portal. We're also breaking in a new DC that has far less experience than what Vic had. I'm not sure what the buy in is on defense this year, considering a lot of good players are deciding to go somewhere else. We'll see what happens, I guess.

If Kaleb picks up where he left off they wont know what hit em. New system, new receivers, new OC. Without Sawyer as a backup, there's no guarantee (The HC we don’t speak of) will let Kaleb run wild like Matt Moore did. His ability to run was a huge part of his success.

If Chipper wont let the boy run then we need to call A&E for an intervention to stop his bath salts addiction. And that's real talk.

I'm sure he'll run ... that's big part of the offense. Even if just to keep the defense honest ... of course when Kaleb pulls and runs, it's usually a big play. I'd hate to be a backside end/LB responsible for him!! Brown had the "run" package for Sawyer ... he was big and not slow. Not sure if Watson can run? He is a good size kid. Oh ... and I expect Matt Moore called about as many plays as Ryan Pugh will this season!
