Didn't see this mentioned, but the women's basketball team received 1 vote in the Coaches' Poll when the poll came out January 8, basically making them #41.
South Alabama is #39 with 2 votes, but they have lost two in a row since then. Troy has won two in a row.
Look for Troy to possibly move up when the next poll comes out Tuesday.

Is this the highest ranking ever by a Troy BB team? I'm guessing yes and that is exciting. Way more schools playing BB than any other sport

Realize this, without the brain fart vs. MTSU (that's what it was, I saw it with my own eyes). The women would be 14-1 with the only loss at FSU in game 1. They would certainly be in the top 25 right now, the talent is unbelievable and I think they learned from the mistakes vs. MTSU. Saturday vs. Ark State, they were in the same position where they took the lead, built on it while Ark State started coming back. They played smart, did not rush down the floor and shoot with 20 seconds on the shot clock, it was nice to see.

I'd match coach Rigby with any in the SEC. She gets more out of her girls than any of those coaches.

The only thing she has going against her is the style of play she runs. You don't see P5 schools running a fast-break offense like Troy does, mainly because they don't need to since they have 4-star and 5-star talent. You'll never see UConn, Mississippi State, Baylor, Texas Tech, Miami, etc. run that style, primarily because they're built on better defensive philosophies and making high percentage shots.
Ole Miss has actually made one of the first hires that I know of where they hired a coach that runs a fast-pace style, Yolett McPhee-McCuin. She went 22-11, 23-9, and 24-9 at Jacksonville in the A-Sun before Ole Miss hired her this summer. She inherited a talented and very experienced roster... right now, Ole Miss is 7-11 and 1-3 in SEC. Granted, it may take her time to get things going, but she's a good one to keep up with if you want to see how Rigby's style translates to the P5.

I'm not a BB expert but I agree on this. It is the perfect offense for a school like Troy. You can try to run more talented teams into exhaustion. Draw back is when you are cold you are in trouble. The big talented schools don't have to run it like you said
