Loving this quote....JM is miles above most G5 AD's...IMO The fourth-year AD said the Trojans dream is facing the SEC’s two in-state football programs, defending national champion Alabama and Auburn, but it won’t happen in the near future. “We’d love to play Alabama and Auburn, but they haven’t decided to play us yet,” McClain said. “We’re looking forward to that day.” link

No reason for them to play us. Only gives exposure to Troy plus if they lost it would be debestating to them. Same thing here in FL. UF and FSU aren't going to play UCF or USF

Playing Auburn in a bowl would be great for us and a nightmare for WDE this year at least

A unique branding option that may be beneficial for both Troy and Auburn would be for us to get a contract with Auburn for the next 10 years (obviously sunbelt officials would have to cooperate) to play them at Auburn solely on their pre-iron bowl week and get paid nothing but cost of the trip. We trade guaranteed money for great exposure and it would greatly help instate recruiting. Auburn gets a set home game for 10 years that they do not have to pay for. Maybe we even cover our own cost to get a deal like that done.
Auburn had to do this to play against Alabama as legion field was Alabama's home field.
Just thoughts outside the box.

So give up a $1,000,000 pay day to have bus fare, pre-game meal and hotels paid for to play Auburn?? I'll take getting $1,000,000 two years in a row to beat LSU and Nebraska and taking Clemson to the wire in 2016. That's how you increase recruiting and line your pockets IMO
