Yes - this is a HIGH SCHOOL Indoor Practice Facility - Like him or not, Rush Probst gets it done!
Winning does a lot for an athletic department and program! Right JJ!

They might've done what a school near me did. A friend wrote a grant for them...their indoor practice facility is also a certified storm shelter for the community! So... little in way of private funds...tax dollars paid for it. Maybe Troy needs a community storm shelter? 😊

School is rated a B- in academics and a C in college prep. 82% proficient in reading and 33% in math. What does it need? A million dollar indoor facility

A million dollar indoor facility If someone writes you a check for $1,000,000 to be used for specifically for this project, do you tell them no? No, if that's the case. Massillon, OH has one that makes this look like a pole barn and it was paid for by one alumni. They make money renting it to the Browns also but a HS really doesn't need a indoor facility. My cousin teaches at Kimberly HS in Appleton, WI (currently on a 70 game win streak and 5 state titles in a row), they just built one but they have horrid snow and it also houses a indoor track and it's used for baseball/softball/golf because they still have snow when practice starts. Not sure how it was funded but I don't think tax money should be used

Is it too soon to say "Maybe Uncle Milty bequeathed us enough to build one of those."?

Colquitt County, GA did use tax payers money to build this as I understand it. But that tax was also a special local option sales tax I think as well. So when 2000 people visit for football games and spend $50 bucks a piece in Colquitt County for 5 or six games, maybe more with playoff games each year, you have people who don't live in your community paying for the building. And of course that sales tax is generated year round at Lowe's, and Wal Mart and hotels in Colquitt County. My family still has a family farm in Colquitt County and like it or not, their leadership got creative to give a revenue generating entity, High School Football and the other sports that will use this building, and opportunity to get better.
The last two years of Troy Football have been really good to the City of Troy from a sales tax revenue standpoint. Adding another 2 to 5 thousand a game plus the tax generated by that group of people who do not live in Troy is GREAT for Troy, the city. Maybe they can get creative and figure out how to use some "sales tax" money to make improvements to the "City". Like this building that can be used by Troy, Charles Henderson and many other groups.

Doesn't Charles Henderson already have an indoor practice facility?

Doesn't Charles Henderson already have an indoor practice facility? Technically yes. However it's only 40ish yards and had weight racks around the sidelines. Good facility for indoor running and light skill work, but not enough room for 11v11 looks. The facility in Moultrie is way nicer.

A school sales tax got voted in here but it's to be used for building two new elementary, one new middle and improvements to existing schools. One advantage to a county high school is you have one school. We have 7 high schools in our county so I could see the fist fight over who gets the indoor facility lol

Mrs. cornhole and I have anted up for the goodies in the past. But it's personnel that makes the big difference.
The cornholes will be directing their support in the direction of people in the future. Troy Athletics will need it to compete.
